We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Meagan Crowe a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Meagan, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I was forced into my purpose, or rather I was forced out of everything that wasn’t.
Over a 10 month period, I went through a divorce, my father passed, and I was laid off from my job.
I had no choice but to build a new life.
But that’s also when breathwork and somatic practices found me.
One life was taken away from me at the same time that another was given.
Through 3 certification programs, hours of practice on others and myself, and one soul-quaking trip to Mexico, I became a different version of myself.
I was told the first time I did breathwork, that I signed up for this – that everything I went through was preparing me for work I said I’d do. And I believe it.
Now, as my world continues to shift, and I get to support others, my gifts are coming online.
The things I know and say to people come from somewhere other than me.
And every little piece of my past – being late diagnosed neurodivergent, the divorces, the surgery, the legal issues, addiction issues, losing a child, losing a parent, the abuses I endured, the ones, I inflicted, learning Reiki at 16, all of it…
All of it is clicking together for me day by day – all the skills and special interests I’ve had are coming together to form this beautiful tapestry of a life I now get to live.
And I’m so grateful for those who are brave enough to do this work, especially with me.
It’s not easy, and I go as deep with people as I’ve been forced to go with myself.
And I know this work is my purpose. Returning people to who they were always meant to be has always been my work.
And it always will be.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a triple-certified, trauma-informed breathwork facilitator and somatic coach and Reiki level 2 practitioner.
I hold a master’s degree in public administration, and have the foundational education that one might get to be a social worker or therapist. I’m also a professional researcher and author rooted in science and study-backed practices.
I am a twice divorced, single mom of one, who, after suffering 3 major life losses in a row, now dedicates her life to helping other heal from early trauma, C-PTSD, anxiety, addiction, and physical manifestations of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual unwellness.
Through breathwork, movement, sound, inner-child healing and parts work, Reiki and energy medicine, and attuned, intuitive guidance, I help humans repattern unproductive patterns in their thoughts and behaviors.
I teach people to regulate their nervous systems, improve their communication, enhance their interoception (sense of what’s happening in their own body), set healthy boundaries, and to release shame and guilt along the way.
I teach people to heal themselves, lovingly and with empathy, so they can be who they were always meant to be – so they can hold onto and improve their relationships, make aligned decisions, stop reacting and start responding, even reduce chronic pain in some cases.
My work is integrated, trauma-informed, and tailored to what my client needs, what they are ready to receive, and the language they are familiar working with.
I offer 1:1 and group sessions and events online and in-person, retreats, and design-your-own experiences.
Choose from these offerings:
– Transformational breathwork
– Sound healing
– Reiki energy healing
– Mantra circles
– Vision board creation
– Energetic hygiene lessons
– Women’s circles
Finally, I have teamed up with Hope with Holly to bring you Trauma Queen Coaching an online membership where we learn the science behind trauma healing, integrate through supportive somatic practices, and heal together in sisterhood with like-minded women.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am the practitioner/mom/friend/human I am today, because I believe 3 things:
1. I am responsible for the impact I have on others regardless of my intention.
2. I am accountable for my healing, regardless of who inflicted my wounds.
3. Life looses it’s meaning the second I give up learning or trying to be a better me tomorrow than I was today.
I didn’t choose to be neurodivergent or alcoholic, just as I didn’t choose to be traumatized in the ways that I was.
But I do get to decide how I let these things shape my life.
I am the only one with the power to overcome my circumstances, to decide and rise above how I was treated.
I care how my behavior affects others, whether or not they feel the impacts of my intent.
I refuse to use what happened to me as an excuse to continue hurting others.
We all have work to do on ourselves. We all will make mistakes.
And, I am responsible, always, for bettering myself, and ensuring not to hurt others in the ways I’ve been hurt.
“When you know better, you do better.” – Maya Angelou
I believe the purpose of life is experience – to become more every day a version of ourselves that is healed, and free, and moves positively through the world and encounters with other humans.
I don’t want my learning and experiencing to end, and I would tell people that the work is hard but worth it.
Choosing to take responsibility for yourself, your actions, and your experience will empower you in ways you can’t imagine.
It will show you who matters in life, and what doesn’t.
And at the very least, it will force you to live with integrity, so at least you can lay your head down at night with less regret.
At least, this has been my experience.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am looking for practitioners and businesses to collaborate or consult with in the new year. Here are a few ideas I have to work together:
1. Men’s or Women’s retreats, focused on nervous system and trauma healing, somatic integration practices, and spiritual awakenings. I can offer both practitioner services, as well as support the budget and operations development.
2. Local or online mini-retreats and group events that could include yoga, tarot, breathwork, sound baths, healing circles, couples work, energy medicine, herbology, channeling, working with guides….so many possibilities. Again, I can offer support for the event itself, as well as all the logistics involved beforehand.
3. Businesses that already work with veterans, first-responders, police officers, people in recovery, cancer survivors, and any groups healing from trauma, C-PTSD, or dealing with stressful daily lives. I’d love to lead group sessions, or set up a referral partnership for complementary services
4. Corporations who want to provide mental and emotional health support so their staff – think in-person or online team-building, leadership training, and nervous system regulation classes for stressed out teams and leaders.
5. Operations consulting – I hold a master’s degree in public administration and formerly served as the operations and budget manager on a $25 million federal grant. I’ve published and reported research to state legislators, led geographically-dispersed teams through major operational changes, developed and implemented operational system and processes in 5 industries, and supported the successful submissions of multi-million dollar grant proposals.
6. Podcasts and Public Speaking – I have a hell of a story, and have been on large stages in both public and government settings. My areas of expertise and person experience include:
– Addiction Recovery
– Breathwork and Somatic healing
– Nervous system regulation
– Grief and shame recovery
– Healing from childhood trauma and C-PTSD
– Late-diagnosis and living life as a Neurodivergent human
– Motherhood, and the economics of being a woman in America
– the Education system and what’s missing from today’s classrooms
– Leadership development and how fragile egos inhibit progress
– Spiritual awakenings, and how to navigate the times when you don’t know who you are anymore.
