Meet Meg Bucaro

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Meg Bucaro a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Meg, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I am no psychologist but I believe it only helped that I was raised in a household where my parents were very attuned to raising confident daughters. They were very involved, pushed us to believe in ourselves, treat others respectfully, they let us “mini-fail”, and taught us to think positively about any challenges ahead of us.

As a teenager, I witnessed my Mom handle tricky situations, which would normally send many women into guilt-ridden, reluctant action, clearly stating her boundaries without guilt. i.e. declining a carpool offer (because it did not really work for our family), holding her own about some tough parental decisions, when my sibling got into trouble – time after time, I saw how a woman can communicate confidently, unapologetically and respectfully, without guilt.

As an adult, I think reflection and discernment is key. If I am truly ‘okay’ with who I am, and invest in listening to what is right, I do not have the time or energy to worry about what others think or want of me. I am most comfortable when I connect with my higher power, expand my shoulders, lift y chin up and proceed on my own path.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I work with women who want to increase their influence through powerful communication behaviors. Women have unique communication challenges and we can not treat this as a one-size-fits-all when it comes to improving our overall presence. What is most exciting is how women have specific superpowers when it comes to interacting with others, both personally and professionally. It is extremely gratifying for me to witness their truest selves, blossom into powerful, authentic, confident women in front of my eyes!

My book that was published this year, “Put Your Big Girl Pants On… and other power moves to increase influence,” is a quick guide for women who need a pep talk about their innate value and worthiness and a blueprint on how to utilize their gifts to increase their influence and visibility. This book is NOT for those who can not appreciate a well-placed curse word or 90’s rap references. 🙂 Coming into 2025, an online mini-course so women who are not in my audiences or do not have the professional development to work with me one-on-one, can still benefit from the unique, women-focused, strategies to increase their influence!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Get comfortable with who you are. For me, my biggest help to become okay with who I am, is to spend time connecting with my higher power. For some, this may be mediation, prayer, discernment, or visualization. For me, it is prayer. I have dedicated time, every single week (at times daily) where I read, journal and connect with a power much higher than I. This gives me peace and hope. This also provides time for discernment on where my life it at currently and where I want to go.

2. Self-development. I am always learning ways to improve both personally- as a wife and a Mom, as well as a business owner. What else could or should I be doing? How will this next move help me to accomplish what I seek? We live in a time where there is NO excuse for lack of knowledge gained. I am consistently checking out books from our library, listening to motivational podcasts, reading articles that will help me to become a better version of myself.

3. Be healthy. Enjoy life. We get one life and I want to live it to the fullest. Trust me, I enjoy my occasional cocktails and comfort foods, but I also know that the bottom line is that I must take care of myself. I want to have the ability to move as I want for as long as I can- this requires exercise, nutrition and making those necessary doctor appointments, even when I do not want to spend my time in those waiting rooms!

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is a goal-oriented woman who knows her stuff, and is confident in many aspects but there is this little communication “thing”: a little fear of presenting/speaking in front of others or she can’t stand how often she has been passed up when considered for a promotion or she becomes tongue-tied all too often and does not feel that she knows how to improve. This woman doubts herself at times and is becoming tired of feeling this way but is not exactly sure how to communicate with such authentic confidence. She desires to feel comfortable in her own skin, and consistently show up confidently and have others see her as the bad ass, confident, well-spoken woman that she can be!
