Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Megan Comer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Megan, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Like many, I always dreamed of owning a business, but I didn’t know where to start. During college, I began planning a clothing brand, Zavani Collective, but financial challenges put my dream on hold. I struggled with finding my purpose, feeling lost and disconnected. I turned to partying, shopping and racking up debt. NOTHING filled the hole in my soul. I was never satisfied and always searching for my purpose. Many years later after finding myself very lost in life, I one day had a life-changing encounter with Jesus. After a series of long unfortunate events, my roommate invited me to church. I had never explored this, but I was open to seeing what it was all about. That’s all God needs to work in your life- a mustard seed size of faith. I began to show up to church service, I bought a Bible, and I most importantly cultivated a relationship with Christ.
As time went on, I began to see life altering transformations happening. These transformations then led me to develop a sense of purpose. My mind had been blown. “Love those who hate you?” “You are made a new creation every morning?” “Spread the good news to everyone about Christ?” These were things I had never heard before. But one thing I did know is when I applied the principles to my life…It WORKED! My purpose now became bigger than myself, there was a bigger reason for everything happening. A fire was lit inside of me and I couldn’t turn back.
Despite fears and doubts, I took the leap and started building my business. I focused on action- I had tunnel vision towards how I was supposed to impact others. I used my resources at hand like YouTube and Google to find suppliers and create a website. I figured out what I didn’t know. I began to co-create with God leading my steps. After five months, I launched a line of high-quality loungewear with biblical references, and the response has been incredible. Our mission is to inspire faith and spread positivity, and the impact we’re having on people’s lives is beyond what I imagined.
The goal is clear: to lead people to Christ and share His love, one sweatshirt at a time. We’re excited for what’s to come and grateful for the community that’s embraced our mission.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Zavani Collective is a faith-based clothing brand born from a dream to create something meaningful and impactful. Founded by a woman whose journey was transformed by faith, Zavani produces modern, high-quality loungewear with biblical references embroidered on each piece. Our mission is simple: to spark conversations, evangelize, and inspire faith through stylish, comfortable clothing.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three things you need to know most about when you start a business would be:
1. Your why. If it’s just about you then your house will be built on sand and it will crumble. If it’s about others your house is built on a rock.
2. How to scale. How can you work smarter not harder? What are some creative strategies to grow?
3. Everyone is afraid. Don’t become a statistic. Fear is a thief, it steals joy.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
The heart behind Zavani is to create a positive environment that encourages people to get curious about Jesus. Our ideal customer would be someone who is bold in their faith and wanting to share that with others through clothing. Our ultimate goal would be to lead at least one person to a relationship with Christ!
