Meet Megan Warnick

We recently connected with Megan Warnick and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I feel that we continually need to work at this as seasons change and you meet new people, but I believe you have to just put yourself out there. You can’t please everyone and as a people pleaser that was a hard lesson to learn! The people that want to be in your circle will gravitate there and those that shouldn’t be there, eventually leave. I try to watch people that I see as confident and look for the qualities that make them come across that way. Most of the time you just have to take the jump and gain the confidence as you go.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

As a wife and mom of 3, I have to really prioritize what I do in my day. Most of my day is homeschooling and being home with my children, but it is also priority for me to continue with my career whether that means teaching dance, teaching/taking Pilates, or running my professional dance company “Shift”. I love seeing the young dancers gain more confidence each week in what they can do in dance and Pilates, I recently helped create a dancer development Pilates curriculum at Core Pilates and that has been so much fun!! I love combining my two loves and helping feeling feel better about themselves. With that being said, Shift is a huge blessing in my life and we are constantly creating new shows and giving dancers young and old opportunities to perform. Our next show will be in June of 2026 and until then we are in the studio weekly choreographing and bringing stories to life through dance!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

My top three suggestions on having a successful journey would be… 1. Have a clear goal and mission and get people on board that will support and motivate you. 2 Decide what kind of community you want to surround you and make sure your company aligns with that. 3. Do it There isn’t ever a perfect time to start something so you have to just decide and go for it!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Always! I am always looking for more studios and schools to work with. I love meeting new dancers through choreographing, workshops, or masterclasses. As far as Shift, we are currently looking for sponsors and partners to help us throughout the season so that I can continue to give dancers the opportunity to perform and do what they love!
