Meet Meghan Warren

We were lucky to catch up with Meghan Warren recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Meghan, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Overcoming imposter syndrome took time and practice. You have to start by reminding yourself that everyone, no matter how experienced, had to start somewhere, and then you focus on progress rather than perfection. Receiving positive feedback from clients boosted my confidence, and I learned to accept compliments without second-guessing myself. Surrounding myself with supportive co workers and mentors helped me realize that growth is a constant journey, not a destination.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a hairstylist and extension educator with a passion for creating transformations that will bring out my clients best version of themselves. My journey started with a love for color and quickly became a passion for hair extensions. I still remember the first time I ever got hair extensions and how amazing I felt with them. That feeling is why I do this, I want everyone to experience that.

The relationships that I have with my clients and students are so very special to me because I know these relationships go beyond just hair. I love being able to transform a client’s look that will bring out so much joy and confidence in them. It’s the best part of my job.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I think consistency, communication skills, and staying up-to-date with trends were the most impactful in my journey. Consistency in my sessions and even with social media presence helped me build trust. Strong communication with clients about their needs and expectations created long-term relationships. My advice is to keep learning and don’t be afraid to invest in building yourself.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

I believe it’s best to go all in on your strengths and focus on what you’re passionate about, rather than spreading yourself thin trying to improve areas that do not excite you. When you lean into what you love, your work feels more natural, and that passion shows, which attracts the right opportunities and clients. As a hairstylist, I realized that my strength was in color and hair extensions, so instead of trying to be an expert in clipper cuts, I honed in on that, and that’s when my clientele started to really grow. Ultimately, focusing on what you love keeps you motivated and fulfilled, making the hard work feel less like work.
