Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Meko Bowden. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Meko, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose in college while I was studying to be an engineer. I figured out that engineering was not really what I enjoyed doing. Instead of just chasing a career because it made money. I started chasing a career where I felt I could be myself and have more joy of doing what I love which is health in fitness.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a personal trainer and nutrition coach and I inform people on the importance of exercise & nutrition. I designed customized workouts & meal guidance with clients. I currently host group training and if people feel they don’t have time to workout I offer online training where they can workout anywhere at anytime. I also plan on launching my own clothing too.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three skills you need to be successful is consistency, focus, & grit.
You can improve in these areas by having a plan and executing it. Write out what you want to accomplish and the goals you want to achieve by a certain time and get them done no excuses treat your business like you would treat someone else’s “get the job done”.
Respect your business like you would treat your bosses business.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
They taught me if I wanted something then I to work for it.
