Meet Melanie Liparulo

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melanie Liparulo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Melanie, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimism comes from a blend of personal experiences, living outside my comfort zone, and a deep appreciation for nature. Growing up in Colorado, I was fortunate to play in the outdoors, which served as a therapeutic escape and has always nurtured my positive outlook. Through my journey of healing from trauma, I’ve discovered the profound importance of moving hardships from my body and mind. Connecting with nature has been one of the most grounding and educational experiences for me, offering solace and a deeper understanding of myself amidst challenges.

Lately, I’ve realized that I am a true romantic at heart, and this hopeful belief that everything can work out in the end has been crucial as I navigated significant challenges, including personal hardship and domestic violence. My journey has been marked by unexpected events, including the arrival of my third son this year. Although he was a surprise, he has brought immense joy and a renewed sense of purpose to my life, alongside his brothers.

Running my small cleaning business, The Eco Clean Experience, has been both a challenge and a triumph. Witnessing the positive impact of my work and the support from my community reinforces my belief in the possibility of a brighter future. Expanding Eco Clean this year has shown me that goals I once thought distant may actually come true. The fact that I’ve been able to hire mothers and continue serving my community has been a powerful affirmation that optimism can carry you through even the toughest days.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My journey of personal growth and professional development is deeply intertwined, and it’s this synergy that defines my brand and its impact. At the core of everything I do is a commitment to integrity, curiosity, and a wholistic lifestyle—values that have been shaped by my experiences and continue to drive my work.

The Eco Clean Experience, my cleaning business, is a direct reflection of my dedication to maintaining a toxic-free environment. It’s not just about cleaning; it’s about creating safe, healthy spaces for families, and providing flexible work opportunities for mothers. By prioritizing green, non-toxic cleaning methods, I ensure that our clients’ homes are not only clean but also contribute to a healthier lifestyle. This venture allows me to support my family while offering valuable care to my clients and team, demonstrating how personal values can translate into a thriving professional enterprise.

Similarly, I run a small social media page, Mountain.Mama. Mel, which extends this commitment to educating women on abuse recovery and self-care. I am able to walk through my own healing journey through creativity and finding a voice that reaches many others. By sharing my hardships intermingled with my successes and joys, I have been able to make many friends in the social media world who needed a friend during their own hard times. My ability to empathize, communicate and encourage women is what keeps me sharing my own personal story. I have turned my desires for a beautiful life into just that, even through difficulties, by learning who I am as a mother and single woman.

What I have created is a reflection of the lessons I’ve learned throughout my journey. My experiences as a single mother and my pursuit of self-discipline have shaped my approach to both business and personal life. The growth and success of The Eco Clean Experience and Mountain.Mama. Mel are manifestations of the principles I live by: authenticity, resilience, and a dedication to making a positive impact.

As I continue to expand these ventures, my focus remains on integrating these core values into every aspect of my work. The alchemy between raising my sons, working hard within my business, and sharing a holistic approach to trauma illustrates how my personal and professional lives are harmoniously aligned. Each endeavor supports and enriches the other, creating an integrated approach to life and work that is grounded in the lessons learned from my journey.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Resilience: Resilience has been crucial in overcoming personal challenges and staying focused. It’s about bouncing back from setbacks and using difficulties as growth opportunities. For those starting out, embrace setbacks as learning experiences and build a strong support network to reinforce this quality.

Authenticity: Staying true to your values and passions helps build genuine connections and trust. To cultivate authenticity, understand your core values, and let them guide your decisions. Sharing your real self fosters meaningful relationships and professional success.

Self-Discipline and Self-Care: Self-discipline helps manage tasks and stay committed, while self-care ensures you maintain your well-being through hardships. Creating small, manageable habits builds a solid foundation for success and makes navigating challenges easier. Prioritize self-care as it’s essential for sustaining your journey.

Advice for Those Early in Their Journey:

Focus on Small Habits: Develop small, consistent habits that build towards your larger goals. These habits create a strong foundation and make navigating challenges more manageable.

Prioritize Self-Care: Taking care of yourself is vital. It supports resilience and helps maintain balance through hardships. Regular self-care practices ensure you stay grounded and energized.

Build Support Networks: Surround yourself with supportive people who can provide guidance and encouragement. Networking with mentors and peers can offer valuable insights and help you stay motivated.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The biggest challenge I’m currently facing is balancing the demands of expanding The Eco Clean Experience while raising my three sons as a single mother. Running a business and being a solo parent requires immense resilience and careful time management.

To navigate this, I prioritize my self-care habits, which have been invaluable in maintaining my strength and focus. When times get tough and I need to handle challenges on my own, the tools I’ve learned through therapy, engaging in activities that replenish my energy, and staying active have truly saved me. These practices ensure that I can show up fully for both my business and my boys.

In addition to self-care, building a strong, like-minded team is essential. I am dedicated to assembling a team that shares my commitment to quality and toxic-free living. By streamlining operations and investing in training, I can maintain the personal touch and high standards my clients expect, even as my business grows. This dedicated team allows The Eco Clean Experience to thrive and expand without compromising our core values.

Lastly, I am able to lean on my community of friends and family. Their unwavering support for both my family and business provides a sense of stability and encouragement that keeps me grounded. Being on the receiving end of their care and assistance has been a tremendous moral booster, reminding me of the strength that comes from a supportive network. This combination of self-care, a dedicated team, and a strong community makes balancing motherhood and business not only possible but deeply fulfilling.
