Hi Melissa, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
When it comes to self-care, I have a variety of activities that I enjoy doing regularly. One of the most important is journaling. Writing down my thoughts and feelings helps me process my emotions and gain clarity on my goals and priorities. It also allows me to reflect on my progress and celebrate my accomplishments.
Another important aspect of my self-care routine is meditation. I find practicing meditation helps me reduce stress and increase focus, which in turn improves my productivity and effectiveness at work.
Affirmations are also a key part of my self-care routine. I use them to remind myself of my values and beliefs, and to stay motivated and focused on my goals.
In addition to these activities, l also make sure to take care of my physical health by getting monthly massages and practicing hot yoga. These activities help me relax and reduce tension in my body, which can improve my overall well-being and energy levels. And lastly , it’s only fitting that I follow a daily skin care regimen to take care of my appearance and boost my self-confidence. Having great skin is a reflection on my business.
Overall, my self-care routine has had a significant positive impact on my effectiveness at work. By taking care of my mental, physical, and emotional well-being, I am able to approach my work with more energy, focus, and clarity, which ultimately leads to better results and greater success..

Hi I’m Melissa , owner of Lavish Divine Skincare. My skincare journey began at the age of 39, when I started to notice changes in my skin, such as ; loss of collagen, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles. I started seeing an Esthetician on a monthly basis for a variety of skin care services. The transformation in my skin was so life-changing, I was eager to learn more so I decided to go to school for Aesthetics. so I could share my knowledge with others. I have been practicing skin care for over a decade. I hold a license in both New Mexico and California . Prior to aesthetics, I was a massage therapist. I no longer practice massage therapy, but I like to incorporate upper body massage into my facial services. Being that I am in my 50s , anti-aging is extremely important to me. So I like to stay up-to-date with the latest anti-aging skincare treatments, that can be performed under my scope of practice. . In addition to my extensive knowledge and experience in the skincare industry, I am always furthering my education, keeping up to date with the latest skincare treatments and trends. My approach is client-centered, and I believe that everyone’s skin care journey is unique. I take the time to get to know my clients and their individual needs, and work with them to create a customized skincare plan. Helping women feel youthful and confident about their appearance .
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three areas of knowledge that I discovered to be the most impactful for my success would be taking risks, trusting the process and never giving up.
Taking risks allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and explore new opportunities. It pushed me to try new things, meet new people, and take on challenges that I would have otherwise avoided. These risks often led to unexpected outcomes and helped me to grow as a person both personally and professionally.
Trusting the process taught me to have faith in myself and my abilities, even when the outcome was uncertain. I learned to let go and rely on my instincts. It also allowed me to take a deep breath and focus on the present moment, rather than worrying about the future.
Never giving up, staying committed to achieving my goals, no matter how difficult they may have seemed.
Overall, taking risks, trusting the process, and never giving up have been the most impactful skills in my journey. They have allowed me to grow as a person, achieve my goals, and find fulfillment in all areas of my life. I encourage everyone to embrace these skills and use them to their full potential.”
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
1. identify the source. Once I identify the source of what is making me feel overwhelmed, I can then develop a plan
2. Prioritize my tasks. I like to focus on the most important tasks first then work my way through the list. This helps me feel more in control and easier to make progress.
3. Take breaks. Taking breaks helps me recharge and refocus.
4. Practice self-care. Taking care of myself is essential when feeling overwhelmed. Getting enough sleep, journaling, eating healthy, breathwork, hot yoga, meditation, engage in activities that bring me joy and relaxation.
With time and effort these strategies and habits I developed have helped me to feel more calm and centered , even in the face of stress and challenges.
