We were lucky to catch up with Melissa Dusenberry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Melissa , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My family, friends, and community have always been a beacon during dark times, reminding me of what is possible. Optimism is a conscious choice, but having people in my world who believe in me, guide me, and inspire me is quite literally the magic of it all.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Integrity, perseverance, and curiosity.
Integrity: Honoring who I am and what I am made of is my “North Star” as a person, but also in what I am creating with All The Brilliants. Historically the jewelry industry was seen as opaque and more recently there has been a lot of greenwashing. It is for these reasons that integrity is a key driver in my gemstone education and advocacy. The world needs people and businesses with integrity to identify and solve the world’s great challenges
Perseverance: If you don’t find your stride immediately, keep going, evolving, and iterating. The one constant is YOU! Never forget that you are your own superpower!
Curiosity: When I was at a profound personal inflection point in my life, I let my curiosity take the lead. When I followed my curiosity, I found myself on a journey of joy and fulfillment. We literally are the protagonists of our own lives and being curious is the quality that transforms it into a “page turner”!
How would you describe your ideal client?
A few of my ideal clients are chairwomen of the board, changemakers in their industries, and CEOs of their households!
Essentially women who want to be seen, remembered, and taken seriously.
They want their jewelry to amplify their unique style, symbolize their personal story, and align with their values.
Not only do they desire pieces that don’t look like what everyone else is wearing, but they want to know they positively impact people and the planet.
