We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Melissa Lymangrover And Maritza Sinavage a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa and Maritza, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
As a mother-daughter duo in Kissimmee, Florida we found our purpose through our You Tube Channel That’s Just Tara. It was created initially as a gaming channel. As the years went by the channel evolved into something broader. We uploaded vlogs showcasing Tara (Maritza Sinavage) participating at Girl Scouts events with her troop or as a Juliette performing generous acts to groups or organizations on her own. We noticed a growing interest from viewers so we thought that we could use this opportunity to educate, inspire, bring awareness to causes that we care about as advocates, to do commentaries and reactions to showcase businesses and organizations that help others, and also to entertain! Our purpose then became to promote humanity, foster critical thinking, to educate, and to support both the local and national economy by featuring as many entities as we could.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Melissa Lymangrover: I’m a content creator, commentator, lifestyle blogger, experienced surrogate, and an aspiring author! I’m a very imperfect person as well. I’ve used my mistakes and life lessons as inspiration to contribute to society and serve the world as best as I can. A decade ago I started feeling a need to give back to the community in Panama City, FL, where we used to live at. I started signing up for volunteering events like cleanups. After that I joined public and local community groups that that had the goal of fostering inclusion and bettering the community. My daughter Maritza (Tara) attended every single event I did which in my opinion is something that stuck with her and helped her become the person she is today! We carried the same habits over to Quincy, FL, where we moved to shortly after Hurricane Michael hit Panama City in 2018. In 2020 we moved to Central Florida. This jump started our broader social media movement for expression, education, showcasing, and entertainment through our YouTube channel.
Maritza Sinavage: First, I’m a Girl Scout alumnae. I became a Girl Scout when I was about five years old. Now I’m a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida. I’m a content creator and a lifestyle blogger as well! I am a drawing artist and have practiced drawing basically my whole entire life. I’m really interested in anything within the cosmetology industry. I like doing makeup, hair, and nails! I enjoy volunteering a lot. One of my past favorite experiences was volunteering at veterans nursing homes, nursing homes in general, and animal organizations. I practice playing my clarinet a lot, and I have been a clarinetist ever since i was in sixth grade. Some of my band concert videos are on my youtube page That’s Just Tara.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Melissa Lymangrover: I’m going to say that having a hope in society, a love for humanity and inclusion, and having the power of will to help create change are the skills and qualities that served as a catalyst for what we do today. My advice for others would be to not follow the crowds and just do what your heart tells you to do. That is what will set you apart from others.
Maritza Sinavage: Three qualities I have that were most impactful in my journey is being ambitious, not giving up, and confidence. Some advice I have for others is to believe in yourself and don’t give up on your dreams!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are absolutely looking for others to collaborate with! For anyone that would like to collaborate or partner with us or if you would like us to feature you in our channel just send us an email to: mlyman0412@gmail..com. Keep in mind that we are located in Kissimmee, FL. We are open to travel anywhere in the US. However, when destination is outside normal driving distance the party requesting collaboration would have to be responsible for expenses related to traveling in which we can discuss during communication!
