We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Melissa Martinez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Melissa, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my faith. I know there’s something bigger watching me and I want to make him proud. The integrity and passion behind it all helps.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Honeybee’s Organizing Solutions, LLC was created to help women feel calm in their life. By helping women gain a sense of calm, they’re able to accomplish their daily and long-term goals. It’s a way to show how one can be productive and balanced in all aspects of life. When I started my company, I had a demanding career, two toddlers, and a hard-working partner. My thought was if I have a sense of calm after a long, busy week, then I can help other moms feel the same. Since starting Honeybee’s Organizing Solutions over six years ago, I’ve helped countless families, mompreneurs, and investors. Now we don’t just organize homes or offices. We also set up, design, and manage STR properties. This journey has been amazing, and we look forward to helping more people feel organized and calm.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
After 20 years of working my 9 to 5, I decided to live out my passion for home living and maintaining. Being consistent and sticking to your business plan is important to your growth. I never knew what “networking” was until I had to do so. Networking is so important for meeting your people and partnerships. However, what truly helps your business is your integrity, customer service, and knowledge in your field.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I started this business to help create calm. Organizing and creating neat functional spaces is essentialfor a balanced lifestyle. I like to help people see situations in a different way through their organized mindset. It’s an enlighten way of living or thinking. I’m looking to partner with mompreneurs, investors, families, or anyone that is in need of organization, productivity, design and function.
