Meet Melissa Mcardle

We recently connected with Melissa Mcardle and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Born and raised in rural Georgia, my parents taught me through example the importance of a strong work ethic. They both worked very hard and never complained, and they did it from a place of love and respect. I’ve always put in 150% whenever I am offering my services to others, working for someone, creating and just taking care of my family. I believe if you sign up to do a job, you bring your all to it because everything we do represents our values.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

For over 20 years, I have been capturing the human spirit through my camera lens while honoring the beauty of human connection which continues to inspire my artistic approach to life. Guiding clients with brand alignment and encouraging them to truly believe in their purpose has created a collaborative effort with entrepreneurs in the coaching, wellness, healing industries and more. As a Reiki Master and Nourisher, I practice intentional living through the healing power of energy, plants, seasonal foods and movement. I am a firm believer in the power of positive thought, the importance of touch, the shaping force of intentional living and the calming benefits of nature.

I’m unfolding a new journey of retreat and workshop offerings with a focus on intentional living within our personal and professional walks of life. My upcoming retreat offering is in late September 2024. Details can be found at www.alchemyofyouretreat.com

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Focus – having the confidence to pursue what my heart has guided me to do without wavering.
Discipline – dedication to a task and ability to give my all in every space and time.
Open Heart – realizing when something works and when something doesn’t and being able to honor both and learn from every situation.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

In today’s world, it is very easy to become overwhelmed. With so much outside noise coming at us 24/7, I have eliminated from my daily what doesn’t serve me which includes news, television and have significantly decreased time on social media. When I find that I have over-scheduled myself, I step back and remember my priorities of family, quality over quantity, and taking care of myself.

I’m the first to admit how easy it is to say YES to everything, yet NO is also just as powerful and most of the time, a pause before committing to something really helps me decide if what is being asked aligns with my purpose.

And mostly, I make sure to weave nature into my every day. Nothing calms the overwhelm like a walk on the beach or time soaking up the outdoors.
