Meet Melissa Renee @fieryfordeepblue

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Melissa Renee @fieryfordeepblue. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Melissa below.

Melissa, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from the heart. I remember back in middle school there was a girl that caught my attention. She seemed sad and appeared to be less fortunate. After hearing her personal story, I asked my mom if we could buy her Christmas gifts that year. Some of my friends helped donate money to be able to buy her several gifts.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
The core of my art business involves working with resin. I paint seascape and abstract paintings on wood panels. Some of my resin pieces have been transformed into gorgeous custom fit wallpaper murals as well as textiles, and tapestries. I am excited to kick off 2023 with some amazing new partnerships and ventures. Although I still have gallery representation, I am also working closely with interior designers. Working with designers allows me the ability to not only create pieces with specialty color palettes specific to their design needs but also the ability to create my own vision based off of their guidelines. One of my newest ventures is working with, BCD-it, or Build(it) Create(it) Design(it) Design Studio – Consulting- Training Seminars – Marketing & Business Management Services, as a member and service partner for design professionals. I am also working with interior designer, Elizabeth Benefield, where a curated selection of my art is available in her to-the-trade showroom. I’m also working with Design Center Associates, to-the-trade showroom where a large curated selection of resin paintings are offered.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For me, not isolating and finding a supportive community was key. Having like-minded professionals to guide me was so important. Always ask questions…the pieces of the puzzle will start to come together and eventually make sense.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I would surround myself with family…spend more time with them. Play with my beautiful grandkids. They all bring so much joy. And, I would definitely continue to create art since that’s what I truly enjoy.
