Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melody Liu. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Melody, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
As I’ve continued growing as a floral artist, I’ve found myself wanting to stretch creatively and explore ideas beyond what’s expected. I’m always looking for inspiration in abstract ideas—sounds, scents, textures, color palettes, everyday objects, even a feeling or a moment. Art in other mediums like music, painting, and sculpture often influences how I think about form and movement, and nature, of course, is an endless source of wonder. Travel also plays a big role for me; being in new places, experiencing different cultures, and seeing different styles show up around the world always refreshes my perspective. Lately, I’ve been curious about mixing materials and exploring how other mediums can complement flowers and add an interesting twist.
I believe my creativity stays alive when I remain curious, notice the little things, remember to see the world from an artist’s perspective, and give myself permission to playfully break the rules in order to discover my voice.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a floral artist and the founder of Flower Bunny, a floral design studio creating bold, playful, and unexpected floral experiences for creative events and brands. My work blends imagination with luxury craftsmanship, and I love collaborating with individuals and brands who want something outside the ordinary—those who dream big, have stories to tell, and appreciate artistry in all its forms.
I’ve always felt that flowers hold a special kind of magic. They have this quiet power to transform spaces, shift moods, and create moments of connection without saying a word. Through my work, I aim to channel the joyful, expressive nature of flowers into designs that invite people to pause, look twice, and stay present. At the end of the day, my goal is to create moments of beauty that feel meaningful and memorable. Doesn’t the world always need a little bit more magic?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities have been especially impactful in my journey: curiosity, resourcefulness, and belief.
Curiosity has been my constant fuel. Staying curious means keeping a beginner’s mindset at all steps of the journey—always eager to learn, dive deeper, and fully immerse myself in the world of flowers. This curiosity drives me to keep growing, pushing boundaries, improving, and trying new things. I’ve recently been loving the quote, “Let the space between where you are and where you want to go inspire you, not terrify you.” Sometimes life can get overwhelming, but I remind myself to stay excited and curious for all the rich experiences ahead.
Resourcefulness is the most valuable resource! No one has all the answers, and when I’m faced with a new challenge, I always know that I can find a solution. Challenges are what push me outside my comfort zone so I can level up. I’m learning to trust myself, think outside the box, research, ask my community, and tap into the wealth of knowledge all around me.
And finally, belief—the belief that everything you want is already within reach. Don’t let your dreams stay dreams. When you are in the driver’s seat of your life, you can take proactive action to achieve what you set your mind to. The possibilities are endless. This mindset has kept me moving forward, growing my business, and creating the life I want!

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client or collaborator is someone who’s looking to create something truly unique and extraordinary. They value creativity and artistry and have a distinct voice or vision that I can help bring to life through flowers as an art form. They’re flexible, easy-going, and love to collaborate—open to brainstorming, dialogue, and experimentation. I’m drawn to those who embrace a bit of quirky, elevated playfulness, and appreciate how flowers can be both luxurious and unexpected.
