Hi Melyana, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

It all started when I longed to have my own job, I prayed to Lord Jesus every day asking for His help to give me a job that only involved Jesus and me. After I prayed, I got an offer to take a class in baking and decorating cakes a week later. From there on I made cakes at home with high quality and shared my homemade cakes with some of my friends and family. They all said that the cakes were very delicious and the texture was perfect, even my friends decided to buy cakes from me. I was even more motivated to make cakes that maintain high quality so that the taste of the cake is delicious and beautiful to the eyes of other people. I like various delicious cakes served at various parties, with the shape of the decorated cakes that are so beautiful, it is very tempting not to take them and eat them. This made me try something new by making different other cake creations.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am Melyana Sie, the CEO of J & Me Cake, Inc and also a baker and cake decorator. We introduce different types of cakes from Indonesia that have a delicious and high quality taste. In addition to selling cake products in retail form in several Indonesian groceries and restaurants, we also make Custom Cake orders as follows: Wedding Cake, Birthday Cake, Anniversary Cake, Baby Shower Cake, etc. The most interesting thing about this job is when developing cake products by making recipes and combining several ingredients to make the cake really delicious and look delightful. Sometimes I feel like solving a puzzle game, where we have to choose good and suitable ingredients and types of ingredients to create a delicious cake product and perfect texture. In addition, what is interesting about this field is when listening to the assessment and opinions of consumers who are very satisfied with the results of the cake, both in terms of taste and appearance. Consumers say that the cake is very delicious, soft, moist and the shape is also beautiful. In my opinion, cakes are not only about taste, but there is also an artistic part of texture and appearance that consumers are interested in trying to buy and eat. I think that when consumers feel satisfied with the cake product, it will add to the list of regular customers and will remember the product brand which automatically creates a good brand for the product.

We have our store grand opening on January 2025!!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three Qualities for me are:
Faith, Determination, Consistency.
My advice:
1. Trust what God has put in your heart,
2. Walk with God,
3. Focus and be the best in your field.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

1. Jesus Christ
Always gives me new ideas to innovate cake products and gives me instructions on what steps I should take next in running this cake business, as well as giving me miracles and skills in making cakes and decorating them.
2. My husband
He always encourages and always gives me full support for my desires from the beginning when I took the initiative to take a class in making cakes and decorating cakes. My husband 100% fully supports my dream of becoming a successful baker and cake decorator and always gives me his time to help me coordinate cake deliveries.
3. My mother
She always gives me her prayers for me to be successful, always gives me encouragement and strength. Reminds me to always include the Lord Jesus in every journey of my life and always be humble and have love for others, because that is one of the keys to success.
4. My Children
Always there to give full support, and time when needed.
