Meet Meral Yalcinkaya

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Meral Yalcinkaya. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Meral, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
We’re just one of the bunch in this vast universe. Knowing that one day we might vanish into thin air makes me think, “Why sweat the small stuff?” Turns out, I’ve found my emotional outlet in art. It brings me this zen-like peace, allowing me to take on everything with a positive spin. Life’s too short to stress.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Meral. I was born and raised in Istanbul. I graduated with a double major. Interior design and ceramic art. I have undertaken many projects around the world. The idea of leaving a piece of myself to these projects sounded very enjoyable. And I created my own ceramic brand. It calls Lori Ceramic. We are trying to grow now. I started producing personalized vases, lighting and furniture. I also design dinnerware. And I argue that details make our lives unique. You may come across my artworks in some galleries in Atlanta!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think having technical knowledge makes me successful. It is very important to know the material.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m an artist and I am open to anything for collaboration.
