my resilience comes from music itself—it’s been my way of reflecting, healing, and transforming struggles into something beautiful I can share with others.

Mercedes Gala is an artist who creates from a place of honesty and emotion. Her songs move between quiet, intimate moments and rhythms that invite people to let go and enjoy themselves. With roots in Mexico and a love for R&B and Latin sounds, she brings warmth and sincerity into her music. Singing and writing are her ways of connecting—with herself and with others—always with a sense of openness.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I think the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are perseverance, optimism, and consistency. Perseverance taught me to keep going even when things felt uncertain. Optimism helped me see possibilities instead of obstacles, and that positive energy often attracted opportunities. Consistency was the glue—it’s what turned small steps into real progress over time.

For anyone just starting out, my advice is this: don’t wait for the perfect moment—just start. Focus on enjoying the process rather than only the outcome, because that’s what will sustain you. Work on your mindset as much as your craft, since a good attitude opens doors you may not expect. And finally, be patient with yourself. Growth takes time, but if you keep showing up, you’ll find your own rhythm and path forward.

Yes, I’m always looking to connect and collaborate with new people. I believe collaboration opens doors to ideas and opportunities that wouldn’t exist otherwise.
