Meriah , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic pretty much came from my childhood upbringing the way I was raised influenced the person I have grown to be today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello everyone my name is Meriah Cummings I’m a 32yr old mom of 2 who became my own boss back in 2020 during the pandemic my concern was the safety of my family and I was just at a stage in my life where I was tierd of building other companies representation and wanted to turn a different chapter to my life that would be a legacy my children could grown an build foundation upon later in life. I’m the woman that has a little interest everywhere so I’ve done media, music, clothing, custom decor, event planning and decor, lashe boutiques and also hairstyling and for 2024 I’m not evolving to owning my own trucking dispatch with my partner Eli.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge most impactful I would have to say Learnability,Resilience and Collaboration were most impactful for me. Far as advice goes I’ll just say building the foundation doesn’t happen over night to see your business truly succeed step outside the box.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Umm, yes actually starting up the freight dispatch I’m looking for brokers, trucking companies/ drivers looking to have a direct carrier to help maintain the loads for them etc as for my decorative side of the business there’s always room to grow and I’m always open for new resources an opportunity.
