Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mersadies Reber. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Mersadies, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
Generosity – the quality of being plentiful. Despite not growing up “wealthy” or having anything “handed” to me, I have managed to find a life of plentifulness. So many people have gone out of their way to help me, my businesses, and our cause. At The Fellas we have always had the opportunities to make a positive impact on the communities around us, and it’s actually turned into our purpose! From donating services to veterans, to fundraiser haunted houses with the proceeds going to families in need, and everything in between, we have always tried to leave these amazing Utah towns better than when we showed up. And we couldn’t do it without support from our amazing clients, and neighbors!! – Mersadies Reber

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My biggest focus has been growing my business (The Fellas) and growing the people around me! We actually partner with barbers in a way that allows them to own a portion of their own Fellas location. New locations and growing is fun, but growing with the people I want to grow with makes it so much more fun! We also have our own product line and a portion of sales goes to local non profits! We carry hair products, beard products, shampoo, and so much more. It’s been amazing to be a part of this companies growth and I’m so excited to see where we go from here!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Be patient with yourself and progress over perfection! I know this sounds crazy but make all the mistakes, it’s what happens after the mistakes that make you great. Making the mistake can be painful, it’s sometimes easy to beat yourself up and even want to quit. But if you push through, it will teach you so much! Take everything you think you know and throw it out the window, you dont know, everyday you are re-learning everything! Learn your values, hold true to them & just keep learning.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
