Meet Mesa Herod-Williams

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mesa Herod-Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mesa below.

Mesa , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from the water. Long before Floating In DFW existed, the lake was where I went to breathe, reset, and let life’s weight drift away. Watching sunsets melt into the water taught me that resilience isn’t loud, it’s steady. It’s choosing to keep going, even when the winds shift, and remembering you can always adjust your sail.

Floating In DFW was created from that same spirit. I wanted others to experience the peace, healing, and joy the lake gave me. Every guest who steps into our world reminds me why I keep pushing forward: community, renewal, and the beauty of slowing down long enough to feel whole again.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At Floating In DFW, I’ve created more than a lake lifestyle business. I’ve created a tribe! Our membership is all about connection, community, and giving people a place to breathe and enjoy life again. Whether it’s a sunset boat ride, an RV weekend by the water, or a lakeside dining tour, we focus on crafting experiences that become the stories people tell for years.

What excites me most is watching guests transform. Arriving stressed, leaving refreshed, inspired, and often surprised by how healing a simple day on the lake can be. We specialize in memorable moments, new adventures, and opportunities to slow down and enjoy life with the people who matter the most.

We’re now expanding with a full Lake Lifestyle Membership Program offering members-only events, curated seasonal experiences, and even greater access to boats, RVs, and Sprinter tours. Floating In DFW isn’t just about the lake, it’s about belonging, joy, and creating the kind of memories that last well after the experience.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Our shared vision kept us aligned and moving forward, even when the path wasn’t clear. For anyone starting out, surround yourself with people who see the dream with you, unity makes the vision stronger.

Our adaptability helped us navigate the ups and downs. As a team, we learned to pivot, adjust, and support one another through every twist. Early on, embrace change and stay open; flexibility will carry you farther than perfection.

Our commitment to community is what makes Floating In DFW special. We don’t just host experiences, we build a tribe! If you’re beginning your journey, focus on people. Strong relationships create strong foundations.

Together, dream boldly, stay flexible, and build with heart. When a group moves with shared purpose, the journey becomes powerful and unforgettable.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One book that has deeply shaped my journey is The Alchemist. Its biggest lesson for me was that when you’re brave enough to follow the dream placed in your heart, the universe rises to meet you. That message kept me moving even when the path felt uncertain.

The book also taught me to see challenges differently, every setback is preparation, strengthening you for what you’ve been called to do. And the most powerful reminder of all: the treasure we seek is often within us from the start.

Those truths helped guide Floating In DFW from a dream to a community. The Alchemist reminded me to trust the journey, honor my purpose, and stay open to the magic that happens when you walk boldly toward your calling.
