Meet Mia Ahuja

We were lucky to catch up with Mia Ahuja recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mia , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I grew up with a father who was an immigrant from Sri Lanka where he was so poor they ate out of coconut shells for bowls. He came to the US with not a dime to his name and has worked and built a successful business and established himself while facing obstacles after obstacle. When you are influenced by a person with that kind of drive, their standards become the ones you strive to achieve. It’s a legacy you know is attainable because you watched it happen and know it’s truly possible.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Tom and I run Blnded Bliss, a skincare brand that started out of necessity, love, and a deep desire for something better. At the time, we were struggling financially, and I could no longer afford the kind of skincare I felt safe putting on my family. So, I started making it myself. We were already moving toward a more self-sufficient, homesteader’s lifestyle despite renting a house at the time and I wanted to create products I could trust. That simple need quickly turned into a passion, and before we knew it, Blnded Bliss was born.

What makes our products different? We don’t compromise. Every bar of soap, every jar of whipped tallow body butter, every lip balm is crafted with deeply nourishing, earth-sourced ingredients that support dry, irritated skin without fillers or harsh additives. We believe skincare should be as pure as the food we feed our families, simple, effective, and truly natural.

And while we’re always perfecting what we do, we have some exciting things in the works. Without giving too much away, we’re formulating something that’s going to be a total game-changer for those looking for the gentlest, most effective way to cleanse and restore their acne prone skin. We’re also working on a new blend that brings together some of nature’s most powerful minerals in a way that feels as luxurious as it is beneficial. More details will be coming soon, but trust me, you’ll want to stay tuned.

At the heart of Blnded Bliss is a simple goal: to provide skincare we trust for our own family and share it with others who care about what goes on their skin. As we grow, so does our dream to eventually move onto acreage, expand our homesteading lifestyle, and continue crafting products that reflect our values of simplicity, purity, and sustainability.

If you haven’t tried Blnded Bliss yet, I’d love for you to experience the difference. Your skin will thank you.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three things that stand out most in my journey are gaining confidence in my own abilities, discipline, and learning to let go and take action.

Confidence doesn’t come overnight, but it’s something you build by proving to yourself, over and over, that you can figure things out. Discipline is what keeps you moving forward. If you wait for motivation, you’re wasting time, and opportunities will pass you by. And letting go? That’s one of the hardest but most important lessons. Let go of the excuses, the fear, and the idea that you need to wait for the “right time.” Time is the most valuable thing you have and the greatest commodity on earth-stop saying tomorrow and start now.

I grew up in an environment where nothing was planned ahead, and chaos was the norm. As an adult, I realized organization and planning were game-changers for productivity. These two skills transformed my life, and they can transform yours too. You don’t need to be a naturally organized person- you can teach yourself. The key is to just start. Taking that first step is often the hardest part, but once you do, momentum will carry you forward.

The number one piece of advice I have? Unapologetically believe in yourself. We are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for, and if you sell yourself short, you are the one who will pay for it. Dig deep and find that strength. Believe me, it’s there!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I can’t pinpoint just one person—this journey has been shaped by so many people who have supported me in monumental ways. My family has been everything.

My husband, Tom, has been integral to our success. He has this calm, logical way of looking at problems, always reassuring me and believing in us as a whole. When I start doubting myself, he’s the one who reminds me what we’re building and why it matters.

I also lean on motivational speakers when I need a push—sometimes you just need that swift kick in the butt to get back on track. And of course, my children are not only my biggest supporters, but they are also my “why.” We all need a why, and they are mine.

My mom, dad, and siblings have also played a huge role in my success. Their unwavering support and belief in me have helped carry me through the toughest moments.

Success isn’t something you build alone- it’s the people who stand by you, push you, and remind you of your strength when you forget it. I’m beyond grateful for mine.
