Meet Mia Mudd

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mia Mudd a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Mia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Growing up I saw my parents hard work eventually pay off. My childhood was great I had everything I needed, but my family definitely had struggles. I knew from a young age that wanting more means hard work. Working 7 days a week is very hard and exhausting, but I’m setting my future up for greatness. Most of the time when hearing inspiring stories it’s about people going all in on something and not giving up until the job is done. I’m putting my all into my business to create a future I’m happy with, and that doesn’t come easy. Knowing I’m working towards my dream everyday is what keeps me coming back to clock in.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a licensed aesthetician servicing the Saint Louis area. I have had my business Divyne Aesthetics open for almost two years. I offer a variety of beauty services, but specializing in all waxing. I love my job because I get to make people feel confident, and beautiful about themselves. I have met so many amazing people working in this industry, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to be on this journey.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Staying motivated to what I’m doing keeps me on track. When I was in school for Aesthetics I also worked 40 hours a week on top of being in school 30 hours a week. There were many days I was beyond over worked, but I knew I was working towards to bigger picture.

Not comparing yourself to others will save you from lots of heartache. You are you and your journey will never look like another. Trying to mold your life to make it like someone else will never work. Stay true to yourself, and everything will fall into place.

Make as many connections as possible. Having connections and having good relations with them will provide unlimited opportunities. The world is smaller than you would think, and you never know who knows who.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

An ideal client for me is someone looking for beauty services. Many beauty services can be intimate, and it can be hard to find someone trustworthy. Most of my clients are returning clients and I love building relationships with them. My many five star reviews show the many happy clients I have. I hope at least one person will read this and feel confident when selecting me to be their aesthetician.
