We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael Chappelle. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michael below.
Michael, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I am able to keep my creativity alive due to my mind constantly changing, It actually causes me to lose sleep at times because it’s restless but I’m thankful that it continues to challenge what I’m capable of doing.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the owner of Synlanguage Productions that focuses primarily on photography and video production. It services the Carolinas and the surrounding states. It blends portraiture and creativity to provide unique photography experiences. Our next event is “The Dark Room” art experiment. It is 10-5-25 from 5pm to 8pm and will stimulate all 5 senses. It will be held at the Social House located at 25 Delano Dr Unit A, Greenville, SC 29601

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Life experience, an art background, and the discipline the military taught me have been crucial in my growth as a person, creator, and business owner. Those at the beginning of their professional journey should remember one thing, you should be in the business of making money but not in the business of getting over on people. Cherish and respect your clients.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
I would say making sure to handle the BUSINESS part of business. From getting my LLC, EIN, and opening a business account, many people tend to forget these important parts of business. Quite often we get lost in the creative aspect of entrepreneurship and lose sight of the main goal. We are in business and have to conduct ourselves as such.
