We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael Matthews. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michael below.

Michael, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

For me finding purpose is being able to tap into the God within. For many years I didn’t understand what that really was about. Learning to trust your “gut” – God Un Tapped. Most the time people are not successful because they don’t listen to that “Extraordinary I” Ultimately once you find your purpose, you must learn to walk in it. How did I find my purpose, I made a decision one day to be a part of Abundant Life Cathedral also known as ALC in Houston, Texas. The ministry is led by Dr. Ed Montgomery. Sitting up under his teachings has allowed me to grow and ultimately find my purpose. I would highly recommend that anyone find a mentor that will speak truth and purpose into your life. Cause one you experience that, your life will begin to change forever.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the founder and CEO of DigitalRadioTracker.com. DigitalRadioTracker.com Inc. is a leading global internet radio monitoring company which tracks radio airplay of songs played on over 5000+ radio stations around the globe. These stations (major to independent) are comprised of an array of FM Terrestrial, Satellite and College as well as thousands of digital streaming radio stations. DigitalRadioTracker.com Inc. has customized a technology that monitors radio airplay detections of songs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think it’s important that one has sales and marketing skills in order to be successful. The ability to communicate well is also another valuable skillset to have. These have helped me tremendously over the years. Not all things you can learn in school. Some of the best advice I can give someone early on their journey is to find a mentor, walk with someone who’s done exactly what you want to do and has been successful doing it. Let them tell you the mistakes they have made and learn to listen and pay attention how you should not make the same mistakes. Allow them to guide you into your success, don’t think you got it all figured out. Accept their wisdom as law and allow it to take your journey to the next level.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The book that has played an important role in my development is called “Position To Receive” by Michael Matthews. Yes, I did say my book Position To Receive. You see that book changed my life. It’s actually notes that principals I learned in business over the years. I clearly heard God tell me one day, you need to share these notes and lessons with the world. It has been invaluable to me. It has touched so many lives, yet it has touched me the most I feel. I never thought I would be a best-selling author, I never thought anyone would care to hear what was going on inside my head. Position To Receive just the title alone has been motivation to keep going, when I didn’t want to. Continue to work hard to further position myself to receive all that God has for me.
