Meet Michael Ramos

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michael Ramos a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Michael, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

Generosity, to me, isn’t just about charitable acts or grand gestures—it’s about the belief that success is amplified when shared. My approach stems from two core pillars: family values and the understanding that collaboration fuels progress.

Growing up, my family instilled in me the idea that giving back is a responsibility, not an option. Whether through time, resources, or opportunities, generosity was framed as an investment in the community that lifts everyone. That mindset has stayed with me.

In business, particularly in the entertainment and publishing worlds, I’ve seen firsthand how generosity opens doors. At ASN Entertainment and ASN Lifestyle Magazine, we thrive on partnerships, creativity, and trust. When you give others visibility, mentorship, or a platform to shine, you create an ecosystem where everyone can succeed. This isn’t just good ethics—it’s good strategy.

Personally, I’ve been fortunate to build platforms like ASN Lifestyle Magazine, which allow me to highlight stories of impact and innovation. Generosity here means amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard, whether through our magazine’s pages or by supporting emerging talent in entertainment. It’s a cycle: when you help others rise, they inspire you to reach higher.

Ultimately, generosity is about recognizing that no one achieves greatness alone. The more you give—whether to people, ideas, or causes—the more you unlock potential, including your own. For me, that’s the foundation of leadership.

Thank you for the question—it’s a reminder that generosity is a choice, and one worth making every day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

At ASN Entertainment, we’re storytellers, innovators, and connectors. As CEO, I oversee a dynamic ecosystem that spans entertainment production, lifestyle media, and impactful events. Our flagship publication, ASN Lifestyle Magazine, is more than a magazine—it’s a platform that celebrates creativity, luxury, and purpose-driven living. We highlight stories of trailblazers, cultural moments, and the art of living well.

What excites me most is the power of community. Whether it’s through our magazine’s pages or the ASN Awards, we aim to inspire and elevate voices that shape culture. The Awards, set for August in Orlando, Florida, are a highlight. This year, we’re honoring the best of the adult entertainment and lifestyle industries. It’s not just a celebration—it’s a catalyst for connection and future collaborations.

What’s new?

Global Expansion: Building on our U.S. footprint, we’re launching ASN Lifestyle Magazine digital editions in key international markets, bringing our content to a broader audience.

Our brand is rooted in elevating stories that matter. Whether it’s through our magazine’s curated content, the Awards’ spotlight on excellence, or our expanding global reach, we’re dedicated to fostering a world where creativity and integrity thrive.

Don’t miss out—stay tuned for ASN Awards updates at www.asnawards.com, and follow our journey as we continue to redefine what it means to live, create, and lead authentically.

Thank you for joining us on this adventure. Let’s make it unforgettable.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities have been pivotal in shaping my journey as a leader in entertainment and media:

1. Empathy and Generosity
The ability to understand others’ perspectives and act with generosity has been foundational. Whether building teams, fostering partnerships, or uplifting talent, empathy creates trust and loyalty. Generosity—offering mentorship, opportunities, or a platform to others—creates a ripple effect of goodwill and collaboration. This mindset has allowed me to cultivate a network of supporters and allies who share our vision.

Advice for newcomers:
Practice active listening and invest in others before expecting returns. Mentorship is a two-way street; learn from those around you, and when you can, pay it forward. Generosity isn’t just about resources—it’s about time, attention, and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.

2. Strategic Vision
The ability to see opportunities ahead of trends and align them with long-term goals has been critical. From launching ASN Lifestyle Magazine to expanding into global markets, success hinges on balancing creativity with calculated risks. Vision isn’t about predicting the future—it’s about staying curious, adaptable, and willing to pivot when necessary.

Advice for newcomers:
Study your industry relentlessly. Read, network, and seek mentors who’ve navigated similar paths. Build a “vision board” of what success looks like for you, but remain flexible. Write down your goals, revisit them quarterly, and stay open to evolution.

3. Resilience and Grit
The entertainment industry is fiercely competitive and unpredictable. Rejection, setbacks, and pivots are inevitable. My ability to stay resilient—to learn from failures, recalibrate, and keep pushing forward—has been non-negotiable.

Advice for newcomers:
Embrace discomfort as a teacher. Every “no” is a stepping stone, not a verdict. Build a support system of peers and mentors who encourage growth, not perfection. When faced with obstacles, ask: What’s the smallest step I can take today to move forward?

Final Thought
Early in your journey, stay true to your values and curiosity. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, and never underestimate the power of showing up consistently—whether it’s refining your craft, building relationships, or iterating on ideas. The world needs your unique voice—trust the process and keep moving forward.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Two books have profoundly shaped my approach to leadership and business: The Art of the Deal by Donald Trump and Raving Fans by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles. Both offered timeless lessons that continue to influence how I lead ASN Entertainment and engage with the world.

1. The Art of the Deal by Donald Trump
This book taught me the power of boldness, negotiation, and thinking bigger than perceived limits. Key takeaways that stuck with me:

“Deal-making is about creativity, not just dollars.” Trump’s emphasis on leveraging relationships, creativity, and strategic thinking over rigid formulas reshaped how I approach partnerships and growth opportunities.
“Never let the fear of failure stop you from taking risks.” This mindset has been critical in expanding ASN’s footprint, whether launching new ventures like ASN Lifestyle Magazine or scaling into international markets.
“Always leave room for the other side to win.” Great deals are built on mutual respect and value creation—not just winning at all costs. This philosophy guides how I negotiate and build alliances.
2. Raving Fans by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles
This book is a masterclass on customer-centricity and the ripple effect of delivering extraordinary value. Its lessons anchor my belief that “the customer is the boss”:

“Satisfaction is a floor, not a ceiling.” True loyalty is built when you exceed expectations consistently. At ASN, this means ensuring every reader, partner, or attendee of the ASN Awards feels not just served but celebrated.
“Culture is the engine of execution.” Blanchard’s focus on fostering a culture of ownership and accountability within teams has been instrumental in driving ASN’s growth.
“Delight is a choice, not a chance.” Small, intentional gestures—like personalized outreach or surprise perks for clients—can turn ordinary interactions into lifelong advocates for your brand.
Advice for Aspiring Leaders
Study the masters, but make it your own. Both books offered frameworks, but I adapted their principles to fit our brand’s values and mission. Never copy; instead, innovate.
Prioritize people over transactions. Whether negotiating a deal or serving a customer, relationships are the foundation of lasting success.
Stay hungry, stay humble. Even as ASN grows, I revisit these books to recalibrate. Growth stops when you think you’ve “arrived.”
Books like these remind me that leadership is a lifelong journey of learning, adaptability, and relentless focus on adding value. For anyone starting out: read voraciously, act courageously, and always aim to leave others better than you found them.
