Michaela, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic stems from a combination of upbringing, personal values, and experiences. Raised with a strong sense of responsibility and taught the value of hard work by my parents, I’ve always been driven by a passion for what I do.
Throughout my career, I’ve also been fortunate to work alongside incredibly talented and hardworking individuals who have inspired me to push myself further and to continuously learn and grow. Surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who share a similar dedication to this field has been instrumental in shaping my work ethic. Including the support and encouragement I receive from the Palette Management team that I work with. Their guidance, insights, and belief in our shared vision has been instrumental in helping me navigate through challenges and seize opportunities for growth.
Moreover, my passion for what I do serves as a strong motivator. I’ve always been drawn to challenges that allow me to grow and utilize my creativity. This fuels my determination to push myself beyond my comfort zone and strive for improvement.
Additionally, I’ve learned the importance of setting clear goals and maintaining a disciplined approach to achieving them.
In essence, my work ethic is a reflection of the values instilled in me during my upbringing, fueled by a passion for what I do, and strengthened by the influence of those around me who continually challenge and inspire me.

I’m an online content creator focused on producing engaging visual effects videos. Using a combination of creativity and technical skills, I strive to captivate audiences with the visuals.
My journey began at McGill University, where I pursued studies in International Development, Psychology, and Political Science. During this time (2020), my passion for videography merged with my co-creator’s expertise in VFX, leading to the creation of ERAVFX. Within its first year, our social pages gained traction, amassing a following of over 1 million. Collaborations with renowned figures like Jason Derulo and Marshmello, as well as esteemed brands such as Amazon, Meta, and PlayStation, marked milestones of our early success.
Recognized for our digital creativity, we earned a nomination at the About You Awards in Milan and expanded our client portfolio to include Fortune 500 companies like Lamborghini, Hugo Boss, Lenovo, Marvel, and Disney.
Upon graduating from McGill, ERAVFX became my full-time pursuit, allowing me to delve deeper into the art of VFX. In 2023, I branched out under the handle @Michaelacoleman on Instagram and TikTok, and @Michaelarcoleman on YouTube.
My journey continues as I strive to refine my skills and elevate my content. I am grateful for the opportunities that this path has afforded me, from collaborating with inspiring individuals to traveling and participating in noteworthy events.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I believe three qualities that were pivotal in my journey are resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning.
For those starting out, my advice is:
1. Embrace failures as opportunities for growth and cultivate resilience.
2. Stay open-minded, experiment with different approaches, and adapt to changes in the industry.
3. Prioritize ongoing learning and skill development to stay ahead of the curve.
By embodying these qualities, along with a deep passion for it, aspiring creators can navigate their journey to achieving success in the creative field.
