Meet Michèle Tambika

We recently connected with Michèle Tambika and have shared our conversation below.

Michèle, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
At the age of 19, I moved to Los Angeles, all by myself, without knowing anyone there. Looking back now, I’m not sure how I did it. The beginning was tough because I didn’t know anyone, and I had to adjust to the culture and the people. It was scary but exciting at the same time. I’m so grateful that I had the courage to do that. I would not be the person I am today if I didn’t have that experience at such a young age. That definitely added to my confidence too, because I had to grow up quickly.

I was doing my Bachelor’s degree in Acting for Film at that time, which was such a good decision! Acting helped me with so many things; my confidence and self-esteem benefited a lot from it. I was struggling to open up at first, but in acting school, I had no other choice, so I slowly started to get out of my shell. I love a good challenge, and it did feel like a huge step. The key was to first get to know myself better and to learn self-love. Once you accept yourself for who you are, you stop worrying about what other people think and you won’t be in your head about it anymore. I have a lot of respect for myself, and it is reflected in my work. If you are naturally confident, people will feel it and admire you for it. I just turn everything around me off and I’m focused on myself. It’s such a great feeling because you don’t care about embarrassing yourself or anything like that. I mean, who cares what other people think…

After that, I got into modeling and was even more in front of a camera. Looking back, I didn’t always feel comfortable in front of the camera, but the thing is, you just get used to it, and it becomes the most normal thing ever. I just know how to perform, and I get into my “I don’t care mentality.” It hits wonderfully.

Besides all my experience in the artistic field, I also experienced a lot of challenges in my life and most of the time I had to go through them all by myself. It made me super strong and helped me grow so much as a person. I became more grateful for the little things that made me enjoy life more and just be in the moment. Over the years I developed strong confidence and self-esteem. It is so important to know your worth and never settle for less.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I lived in Los Angeles from 2018-2023; where I did my Bachelor’s degree in Acting for Film and I got my first experiences as a model there too. Right now, I’m located in Zürich, Switzerland again, where I’m originally from. I’m working here as a model, hostess, and I create content for different brands. It’s been a long journey, but all the hard work from the past years is slowly paying off. It’s amazing to see how people recognize the artist in me. I wouldn’t say that was always the case. I had to learn how to get out of my shell. It seems like my type is very asked for right now, which works out great for me.

Besides my work as a model and content creator, I started developing a new TV show with writer and Co-Founder of City Lights Studios, Justin Conrad. I’m very excited to see where it’s going.

In my free time, I enjoy lots of yoga, traveling, cooking & baking. It’s like therapy for me. It helps me stay grounded.

I just love being creative and making things happen that have been on my mind. A lot of people have been telling me that I’m very inspiring as a person which makes me so happy to hear that. I love to inspire people to be more open to life and let their hearts lead the way.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I left my hometown at such a young age, which shaped me and my work a lot.

Traveling to different places in the world helped me to be even more open-minded and enjoy all the little things in life. It has been amazing for my spiritual journey and getting to know myself better.

I love spreading love; it brings me so much joy. My authenticity has been a huge plus. It’s attractive and the more I’m just myself, the more doors are opening for me.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Probably myself. I learned to be okay on my own and to never give up, no matter what challenges I’m facing. I had to really go deep within to understand who I am, what I want in life, and how to accomplish my goals. I established a strong mindset which helps me overcome anything. You can train your mind! Sometimes, you just have to unlearn everything you know and learn it again, but differently. Our mind is so impacted by the way we were raised and the things we learned in school. If you want to be successful, you have to change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change. Go with your intuition and stop listening to everyone around you. I started to attract success, once I let go of trying to please everyone around me and started focusing on myself and what is really important to me. If you choose to listen to your inner voice, you will find the answers. Just trust yourself!
