Meet Micheline Batom

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Micheline Batom a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Micheline, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Having come from a complicated upbringing and background, I felt lost in the world until my mid-twenties. I grew up in different homes while my parents overcame addiction and lacked the parental bond that many children have with one or both parents.

When I met my husband, I gained two stepchildren, and that’s when I knew I was meant to be a mother. I gave birth to my daughter Mazie in 2022, and since then I’ve found my purpose in life as a mother, a wife, and a photographer. Roles that mean the world to me.

I love watching my children grow every day, and I’m so grateful for a career that allows me to spend more time with my family, gives me the flexibility I need with my disabilities, and lets me give my children the kind of life I didn’t have growing up.

I’m also deeply thankful for my family, friends, and amazing clients who have supported me through this journey. Your encouragement, trust, and love have meant everything. I’m proud to say I’ve found real success in my business, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of you.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am an artist at heart. Whether it’s photography, 3D art, or knitting, I’m always drawn to creating something meaningful. I see beauty in the world around us. In the quiet moments, the colors of nature, and the little details that often go unnoticed.

I’ve always been passionate about environmental studies and finding ways to protect our planet, so we can continue to enjoy its natural beauty for generations to come. That love for the Earth inspires my work and how I view the world through my lens.

Photography has a special place in my heart because it allows us to capture beauty that might otherwise fade from memory. A single image can preserve a feeling, a moment, or a piece of someone’s story, and that’s something truly powerful.

My hope is to continue offering these services for many years, always learning, always growing, and continuing to create lasting memories for the people who trust me to tell their stories.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I believe my empathy, determination, and willingness to accept constructive criticism have been some of my greatest strengths on this journey. I am humble enough to know that I am not perfect, and I am always striving to grow, learn, and improve my craft.

I lead with compassion, especially for those who need it most, and I pour my heart into creating work that brings joy, healing, and meaning to others. My goal has always been to create something that makes a difference, not just for myself, but for everyone I have the honor of working with.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I knew I only had a decade left, I would spend every second I could with my children.
