Meet Michelle Gillis

We were lucky to catch up with Michelle Gillis recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
I always remind myself that these people must admire something about me otherwise they wouldn’t take the time to criticize what it is that I’m doing. Although other people’s negative opinions can be hurtful, they really are not important. What is important is how I feel about myself, the work I’m doing, and how I am of service to the world. Of course, I do want my family and close friends to share with me their thoughts about my life, however, these individuals want the best for me and any opinion they offer me is steeped in love.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
The North Star offers a refreshing alternative to traditional networking. Instead of competing with one another for limited opportunities, we come together to support and empower each other. At The North Star, we create safe spaces where women can share their experiences, knowledge, and resources without fear of judgment or competition and we have a lot of fun in the process! Visit our online community at www.thenorthstarllc.com to learn more.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the three qualities that have been the most impactful on my journey are: 1. Kindness. I sincerely care about people.
2. Perseverance. I don’t give up easily
3. Faith. I trust God even when the path in front of me looks impossible.

How would you describe your ideal client?
I believe the ideal client for The North Star is a woman who is craving authentic connection. She is someone who has attended traditional networking events and finds them either stuffy or frivolous. She recognizes that her time and resources are finite so she wants to be a wise steward. When she comes together with other women, either virtually or in-person, she wants to make it worth her time.

I’m offering a special promotion until February 14th for any woman who wants to become a member for free?
All she has to do is email me!
