Meet Michelle Glogovac

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michelle Glogovac. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Michelle, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
For 18 years I sold jet fuel to corporate flight departments. I enjoyed my job. I traveled around the country, met celebrities, created lasting friendships with clients and industry colleagues and was really good at my job. I was laid off after having my second child. I had two under the age of two and when I looked at them, I knew I needed to do something to make the world a better place for them.

It was in 2018 that I discovered how to listen to a podcast and instantly, I fell in love. This industry allows for everyone to listen to the stories of others, gain knowledge on every topic you can imagine, be entertained and simply not be alone….and all for free! I instantly knew that helping others share their stories was my purpose is.

By sharing stories and knowledge with so many people, I’m helping build empathy and legacies and that to me is changing the world to be a better place for my children.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I work with authors, entrepreneurs, business owners, nonprofits and more to hone in on their story and share it with their ideal audience. I help them repurpose their interviews into greater marketing content to reach an even larger audience. All of this is done with the intent to educate, inspire and motivate.

My first book, HOW TO GET ON PODCASTS, was published by McGraw Hill in January 2024. I wrote this book to share everything I know and do so that podcast interviews can not only become accessible for everyone but to also create a standard in the podcasting industry on the right way to pitch to hosts. I’ve also launched a course as a companion to the book.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three things that have been most impactful in my journey has been my approach that I will not fail as long as I try, my craving to not only learn new things but also want to master everything I try and not being afraid of change.

I don’t believe in failure. I believe that as long as you try your very best, you will not fail in whatever it is you do. If you need to pivot along the way to make things work, that’s not failing.

We can all learn something new at any stage of life, but we have to be open to the possibilities. Podcasts have been around for over 20 years but didn’t exist when I was in college and looking at careers. I was in my late 30s when I started my business and 42 when my book was published. It’s never too late to learn something new! I am someone who needs to know how things work which is why I dove head first into all things podcasting. I didn’t simply want to learn how a show is produced. I wanted to learn how to host a show, pitch to a show, market a show and everything in between. Learning every aspect of a task or industry allows you to have a greater knowledge than only knowing a portion of it.

I’ve never been afraid of change. I learned early on in life that change is inevitable and is going to happen to all of us. It’s how we adapt to it that makes change either a good thing or a bad thing. Accepting that things will change will ensure that you look at things in a positive way. The change might not seem good at first, such as being laid off from your job (as I was), but if you see it as a pivot and accept it, you’ll see that you’ve been given a new opportunity that might not have existed before.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who wants to share their story with the world. Someone who understands that their story is going to help someone who hears it. Storytelling builds empathy while also helping those who listen to know they’re not alone, they can get through whatever it is they’re going through and examples of steps that have worked for the storyteller that the listener can implement.

My clients all have a book, product or service but go into a podcast interview with the sole intention of sharing what they know. My ideal client will do the same. Podcast interviews allow listeners to get to know you as a person. It allows them to fall in love with you and ultimately want to follow you and buy from you.
