We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michelle (LaTigresa) Lores a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Michelle (LaTigresa), thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
I have blind faith. I don’t have a plan B or C. I may be rerouted, but I know where I’m going. I know whose I am, and who I am, and that certainty keeps me grounded. I cannot be moved. People’s opinions are irrelevant because I am anchored in my purpose. I’m prepared to go the distance, even if I must walk alone. The first thing I did was measure the cost, and I pay all my bills on time.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
The most exciting thing about what I do is that it’s more than just training, it’s a paradigm shift. I am called to prepare individuals to transcend their limitations and become who they were always meant to be. Right now, I’m in the final stages of a major development, a project that will shift the culture of what it means to live with purpose and power. Soon, I will be selecting founding members who are ready to join this movement and help push this mission to new heights.
This is not just about personal growth; it’s about creating a community of purpose-driven warriors who will change the world. If you feel called to be part of something greater than yourself, stay tuned for more information about how you can be a part of this powerful evolution.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Faith, Discipline, Commitment.
If you don’t believe in anything else, make sure you believe in these three. Your purpose is the nucleus, the driving force that keeps you going. You can lose everything and still get it all back, as long as you keep the faith.
Many confuse discipline with motivation or inspiration, but they are not the same. Motivation and inspiration are directed towards a specific result. Discipline, on the other hand, is a standard you set for yourself. It is the unshakable foundation that will carry you through any storm, bringing order and stability when everything else feels chaotic.
Make a commitment to yourself. See it through. There is no greater feeling than finishing the course. Trust me, I know. It’s worth more than silver, gold, or any superficial thing.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Bible.
“If God is for me, who can be against me?”
“Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow tired. They shall walk and not faint.”
“Those who sow in tears shall reap with joy.”
“There is a time and season for every purpose under the sun.”
“By my God, I have run through a troop and leaped over a wall.”
“There is no harm that comes against you but that which is common to man. But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but will, with the temptation, also provide a way of escape.”
“Nobody takes my life from me; I lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back up again. This charge I have received from the Father.”
“There is nothing now hidden that shall not be brought to light.”
“They meant it for evil, but God made it good.”
“When I was a child, I thought as a child, I spoke as a child, I behaved as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
“I have done a new thing in this world. I have sent a woman to compass a man.”
“I have chosen you, and I have not rejected you.”
“Vengeance belongs to the Lord.”
“Write the vision down, make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.”
There are countless more, but these are a few I keep close.
