Meet Michelle Marquez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michelle Marquez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Michelle, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I believe my resilience is deeply rooted in my humble beginnings. Growing up without much taught me the value of hard work and the importance of perseverance. For me, success isn’t just a goal—it’s a necessity. I am driven to work harder than anyone around me, constantly looking for new approaches and not afraid to explore every possibility to achieve the best outcome. Coming from a challenging environment has instilled in me a deep appreciation for every opportunity I’ve been given, and I am committed to never taking any of them for granted. Instead, I see each step as a chance to level up and push myself further.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
With more than 20 years of experience advising a diverse clientele of generational wealth families and entrepreneurs. Michelle possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in creating meaningful legacies and the financial complexities occurring at every stage of life. As part of her personal consultative approach, she works closely with each client’s team of professionals, such as their attorneys, accountants and business managers, to ensure she delivers a comprehensive, holistic solution to their total wealth management.

Her comprehensive wealth management skills encompass a wide range of essential financial matters for the most elite and discerning of clientele:

• For entrepreneurs, her business management experience addresses essential needs such as cash flow management, employee retention, insurance, financing, exit strategies and wealth transfer.

• For high-net worth families, she is skilled at establishing and managing family offices, guiding every member through finances from the earliest ages and throughout their lifetime. She advises on all aspects of retirement planning, cash management, trust services, philanthropy and estate planning.

What excites me most about my work now is the opportunity to support female founders and entrepreneurs. As a female founder myself, I understand the unique challenges that women in business face, particularly when it comes to accessing resources and information. I’m passionate about serving as a bridge, connecting these inspiring women with the financial knowledge and network they need to make empowered decisions for themselves and their families. Building that path forward is deeply meaningful to me, and I’m thrilled to help others reach their full potential and create lasting legacies.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, 3 qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, adaptability, and patience. Resilience has helped me overcome challenges and stay focused on my goals, even when the path was tough. Adaptability has allowed me to navigate changes in my industry and adjust to new demands, keeping my approach fresh and relevant. Patience has been crucial, especially when building lasting relationships and waiting for long-term results.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
The number one challenge I’m currently facing is getting in front of female founders and entrepreneurs to initiate conversations about their needs and how I can support them. Meeting and connecting with these women is often difficult, but we’re actively addressing this by organizing Founders Summits and events. These gatherings bring together 15 to 20 women, creating a space for meaningful discussions about their businesses and the challenges they face. Additionally, we arrange more intimate lunches with small groups of women who share similar journeys, where we also invite specialists from investment banking to provide insights on topics like capital raising and exit planning. These initiatives allow us to form deeper connections and offer tailored guidance to help them achieve their goals
