Meet Michelynne Mccarter-Bell

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michelynne Mccarter-Bell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Michelynne, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?

One of the ways I’ve become more effective is by learning to show up as organically as possible. Doubt and uncertainty often creep in through imposter syndrome, which can easily stunt your growth. But reminding yourself that you are knowledgeable, prepared, and smart is enough. Too often, we shrink in spaces where, in reality, we might be the most insightful person in the room.

I’ve realized that I have a lot to offer when it comes to impact and learning. While I see myself as a lifelong learner, I also recognize that I have something valuable to share, something that can positively influence organizations and people around me.

When you’re truly passionate about your gift, even fear can’t keep you silent. It becomes almost impossible not to use your voice, not to contribute, and not to spark better change in those around you.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m excited to share that we are continuing to grow our HR firm! This year, we’ve had the privilege of impacting so many organizations, and we’re determined to keep that momentum going strong.

One of our biggest focuses this year is recruitment and organizational development, including company retreats that bring teams together in meaningful ways. We’re also looking forward to relaunching our HR podcast, creating another platform to share insights and resources that inspire growth.

While we provide traditional HR services, one of the things we truly love is hosting retreats designed to help companies align, recharge, and reach their goals. We’re especially passionate about partnering with organizations that are serious about growing their teams, because when people thrive, companies thrive.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Being a lifelong learner, practicing introspection, and cultivating self-awareness are three keys to lasting success.

Lifelong learning: If you want to continuously make an impact, you must commit to learning. The world is always changing, processes evolve, industries shift, and new opportunities emerge. Staying open to growth keeps you from being left behind.

Introspection: Taking time to reflect allows you to check in with yourself—where you are, how you’re showing up, and what you can do to improve. It’s a powerful tool for personal and professional growth.

Self-awareness: Too many people walk through life lacking it, and that often leads to poor self-management. The truth is, you can’t manage what you’re unaware of. Self-awareness is the foundation for better choices, stronger relationships, and greater impact.

Together, these three areas form a strong foundation for success, in work, in leadership, and in life.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

We’re looking to partner with organizations that need HR support and are committed to growing and sustaining strong teams. Whether you’re a small business or a large company, we have solutions that work across all industries designed to help you build, support, and empower your people.

Because no matter the size, every organization deserves the right tools and strategies to help their team thrive.
