Meet Mid-Week Athletes Podcast

We recently connected with Mid-Week Athletes Podcast and have shared our conversation below.

Mid-Week, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

Our generosity comes from the locker room. Growing up playing sports—whether it was AAU, High School, or even college —you quickly learn that team success depends on how much you’re willing to give to the guy next to you. Whether it’s sharing the ball, putting in extra reps, or sacrificing for the win, that spirit of giving stays with you.

We carry that same mindset into our podcast. We’re generous with our time, our takes, and our platform—because we know how important it is to build something bigger than ourselves. Sports taught us that. Our families reinforced it. And now, we try to pour that into everything we do—from highlighting under-the-radar athletes to collaborating with fans, guests, and creators.

You can find us on all platforms @midweekathletes—and the best way you can return the generosity is by subscribing to our YouTube and spreading the word!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Mid-Week Athletes Podcast, a sports-driven podcast based in Houston, Texas. What we do is dive into the heart of sports culture—from professional leagues to local stories—while mixing in our own perspectives, humor, and real talk. We’re all about giving listeners a mid-week reset with engaging conversations around the games, players, and moments that move the sports world.

What makes the Mid-Week Athletes Podcast special is our relatability. We’re not just talking stats—we’re talking stories. We bring a community vibe to every episode, speaking directly to fans who live and breathe sports just like we do. Whether it’s a buzzer-beater, a locker room moment, or a rising athlete making waves, we want our audience to feel like they’re part of the conversation.

We’ve also been working on growing our platform beyond the mic. Lately, we’ve started collaborating with local Houston talent and sports influencers, expanding our reach through live event coverage and community-driven content. So if you’re into sports, culture, and a little bit of unfiltered commentary, the Mid-Week Athletes Podcast is worth a listen.

We’re excited about what’s ahead—and we appreciate every new listener who joins us on this ride.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on our journey with the Mid-Week Athletes Podcast, three key qualities have really made the biggest impact: consistency, authenticity, and adaptability.

Consistency has been the backbone of our growth. In podcasting—especially in the sports world where news and stories move fast—showing up every week matters. We made a commitment to our audience to deliver solid content regularly, and that’s built trust. For anyone starting out, don’t wait for things to be perfect. Show up, put in the reps, and keep improving as you go.

Authenticity is what sets us apart. We don’t try to be ESPN or follow the typical media script. We talk like real fans because we are real fans. We bring Houston flavor, honest takes, and our personalities to every episode. Listeners can tell when you’re genuine—and they connect more when you’re being yourself, not just copying what’s trending.

Adaptability has also been crucial. We’ve had to learn new tools, shift formats, and respond to what our audience wants. The podcast game evolves quickly, and staying open to change—whether it’s improving sound quality, embracing social media, or adjusting content direction—keeps things fresh. Don’t be afraid to pivot if something isn’t working. Growth often comes from trying new things.

To anyone just starting out: be patient but persistent, stay true to your voice, and never stop learning. Every episode is a chance to get better and build something that reflects who you are.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, we’re always open to partnering and collaborating with others who share a passion for sports, culture, and real conversation. At the Mid-Week Athletes Podcast, we love connecting with athletes, coaches, content creators, local businesses, brands, and other podcasts who are looking to engage with a loyal and growing sports audience.

Whether it’s guest features, joint episodes, event coverage, or brand partnerships, we’re always looking to create fresh, meaningful content that resonates with our community—especially right here in Houston, Texas, where we’re proudly based.
