Meet Mikail Akar

We recently connected with Mikail Akar and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mikail, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My dad, he believes in me and is my inspiration

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Besides going to school and hanging with my friends and going to soccer games, I love painting. What’s really cool is traveling to show my paintings to people everywhere. It’s awesome sharing my art with others. We’re going to be at Artexpo New York at booth #604 soon. I’m also looking forward to two significant events happening in New York City, my favorite city. I am doing a live painting on the 100th floor at the World Trade Center on April 2nd and a big solo show opening in Soho on April 6th.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being creative, staying strong when things get tough, and always being open to learning new things have really helped me. If you’re starting out, my advice is to just go for it. Don’t overthink. The more you do, the better you get.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest growth has been in my painting skills and being able to show my work more. I’ve been working hard on making my paintings even better, and I’ve gotten to share them with more people through bigger shows.
