Meet Mike Schmidt

We recently connected with Mike Schmidt and have shared our conversation below.

Mike, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
Woof, this is a loaded question, and I love it. You know why I love it? I love it because both are possible, You can avoid burnout if you feel like you are approaching it, and you can overcome it if you’re already in it. I really never believed this when I was going through it, yet here I am on the other side of it.

I almost chose the question “where do you get your resilience from?”, because honestly I feel like that’s ultimately what it came down to. I was trying so many things during my 16 month bout of burnout, AKA depression, anxiety, ADHD, procrastination, self-deprecation, etc. I really felt like after so long, there was nothing else I could possible try. I was doing everything and anything i could, to heal.

What really started moving the needle forward was energy and emotional healing which started with my first ever Reiki session. In that session, i willingly allowed my ego to die. I allowed the thought patterns, the fears, the doubt.. all the things that no longer served me…to die. I let them go.

The other game changer was community. I realized for a long long time that i was not alone, yet I was lonely. I enrolled in a mentorship program that allowed a safe space, a community, and a place to process my emotions and what was REAL for me, without feeling like I needed to hide it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My 3 core values in my life are FAMILY, FUN, & FOOD…in that order. I treat my blood relatives like family of course, and I also treat my clients, my business partners, and my friends like family as well. Secondly, what’s the point of life if you’re not having any fun…for a long time I took my life way too seriously, but i’ve now leaned into light-heartedness and and abundance mindset. And food of course, the building blocks of our body, it’s literally what we’re made of. I believe if you love yourself enough, you will love food that loves you back.

My origin story is struggling with chronic acne, hemorrhoids, and anxiety all throughout high school, college, and corporate America. I had this athlete “burn it off” mentality and because of that, i had no idea the internal damage and inflammation I was causing. It wasn’t until I joined my nutrition cert where all of these symptoms vanished within 3 weeks. I could barely believe it, so i said to myself “how come nobody knows this stuff?”. And I started the business from there.

Then, as I was balancing my corporate job and the business simultaneously…I hit intense burnout- gut issues, afternoon crashes, chronic fatigue, no motivation, hyper-anxiety, depression, ADHD, procrastination etc. It wasn’t until I joined a community of like-minded humans and safe space where I could start talking about how I felt, and began to process my stuck energy. I had some very dark days and now it is my passion to inspire others and help others overcome burnout because I do not take that word lightly.

More about my brand— I have coached over 70 clients in 3 years and what I recently launched is my first ever group-coaching program called SuperHUMAN 3.0 that is 10x more powerful and healing than 1-on-1. I will be launching SuperHUMAN 4.0 in the coming months, for the next cohort of humans who are ready to become their highest possible expression and happiness.

I also recently hosted a wellness retreat in San Diego where we had ice baths, sound baths, qi gong, meditation, group story telling and safe-space chats. We also had a healthy food truck and sauna truck. Everyone walked away feeling like a new HUMAN and with goodie bags filled with journals and healthy snacks! It was so rewarding and I’m thrilled to host more, the feedback was incredible and SO encouraging about hosting these long-term!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
#1 Willingness- Be willing to admit “hey, maybe the way I’m doing things isn’t the way anymore. Maybe my way of doing things needs to change”. Be willing to address your own blind spots and unconscious thought patterns and physical habits that hold you back, especially the ones you might not realize.

#2 Vision- Always have a crystal clear vision on where you’re headed and WHY it is so damn important to you. If it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind, and you will never reach the thing that you aren’t even clear about in the first place.. Dig deep and ask yourself why youre doing what youre doing. Whether it’s a business, a workout, an ice bath, a vacation, etc. Always have intention and be aligned to how YOU want to feel, regardless of what others think.

#3 REST- Rest IS work. This was a hard reprogramming on my brain that I desperately needed. Practically my entire life was this consistent dialogue of “but i still have to this, I still need to that, but i havent done xyz”. This buried my ability to appreciate how far I’ve really come and hence, I wasn’t able to enjoy the present moment.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
You’re ambitious by nature…

You enjoy telling people about your story, your growth, & what you’ve learned along the way. You always know there’s room to grow, you inherently know you’re capable of more. In fact, you feel like that all the time. This deep drive & desire for more, constantly.

But the thing we help OTHERS with most is the thing WE need help with the most

So…truth be told, you’re not sure if you’re getting real enough with yourself to make meaningful change.

And let’s be honest here:

You’re settling
You’re uncertain
Your pride is intervening

But the ambitious individual gets rewarded for taking risks. They benefit massively from stepping into the unknown.

They know regret is MUCH more painful than just going for it.

If you’re truly an ambitious human who wants to become their highest expression, you have to be willing to challenge the status quo.

This means admitting that your current path of “I’m already healthy”, or ”I just have to do it” isn’t going to get you there.

Deep, deep within you, you’ve already made the decision.
All that’s left is to DECIDE to just do the thing.

Which is to:
Discover who you TRULY are, what you ACTUALLY want. Create an unrestrictive, long-term healthy lifestyle, while still having FUN, being HAPPY, and FEELING GOOD

When we work together, here’s what I promise you:

You’ll FEEL GOOD. Not only from physical shifts, also by learning how to give yourself more GRACE & silence your harsh SELF-TALK.

You’ll be HAPPIER because you’ll learn HOW to be in the PRESENT MOMENT more often.

You’ll be more KNOWLEDGABLE about nutrition, turning it into a 2nd nature SKILL & LIFESTYLE.

You’ll start to HEAL your stored traumas, EMOTIONS, & LIMITING BELIEFS that hold you back from growing.

You’ll have FUN, connecting with like-minded humans in our powerful COMMUNITY.

I wish I could express to you how much I want this for you (I’m inspired to write a book because there aren’t enough words)

I can’t want it more than you. That’s the the thing……YOU are the one that has to decide.
