Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mike Zikri. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mike , so glad you were able to set aside some time for us today. We’ve always admired not just your journey and success, but also the seemingly high levels of self-discipline that you seem to have mastered and so maybe we can start by chatting about how you developed it or where it comes from?
My self discipline comes over the years from a deap sense of responsibility and a strong desire to achieve the goals I set for myself. I believe that consistency and determination are the keys to success, and ive trained myself over the years to stay focused, especially when I faced challenges.i grow up in an environment where hard work ,integrity were highly valued & those lessons guide me daily.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a real estate developer and entrepreneur with a deep passion for creating unique spaces that bring people together, inspire creativity, and add value to the community. Through my company ,I focus on developing boutique residential ,commercial ,and mixed use properties ,blending design , functionality, and sustainability.
What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to transform neglected or overlooked spaces into vibrant destinations that tell a story -whether its through architecture ,artier design .I believe real estate is more than just buildings , its about creating experience for those who interact with the spaces we create .
Currently ,were working on several exciting projects ,including the renovation of historic properties, new developments as boutique hotel and collaborations with local artists to incorporate public art into our buildings.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three qualities that have been impactful in my journey are resilience , creativity, and relationship building.
Resilience has allowed me to navigate challenges, without loosing sight of my long term goals ,it taught me that failure is often just a stepping stone toward success, and that persistence is key.
Creativity has been essential in finding unique solutions , envisioning new possibilities, and bringing fresh ideas to the table-whether in design ,strategy, or problem-solving. innovation often comes from thinking differently and daring to take risks.
Relationship- building has been the foundation of every project I’ve undertaken. Strong ,authentic connections with clients.partners, and communities creat trust, op[en doors ,and foster collaboration.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, I’ve learned to take a step back and breathe. it’s important to pause, reset and gain perspective before reacting. I usually break down the situation into smaller, manageable parts and focus on tackling one thing at a time rather than letting the big picture create unnecessary stress.
I also find that stepping away whether its going for a walk ,or simply disconnecting for a short while -helps me come back with a cleaner mind.
My advice is to remember that felling overwhelmed is part of a meaningful journey. It’s temporary.
So simply trust yourself.
