Meet Mila Troncoso

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mila Troncoso a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Mila, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

From surviving. Life hasn’t always been kind — I’ve had to fight to stay afloat and alive more times than I can count. But I made a choice: I wasn’t going to let the hard things define me. I turned everything meant to break me into fuel. I don’t come from ease or comfort, but I come with fire. Once I decide on something, I go all in. I don’t like “what ifs.” I want to live full out — no regrets, no holding back. That’s where my resilience comes from. It’s not pretty, but it’s mine.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m an actress, founder, and builder — someone who lives between creativity and chaos. I’ve always felt like I was meant to tell stories, whether that’s through performance or building things that help others tell theirs. Artistically, I’m forever acting, it is my truest deepest passion. I just wrapped a film that’s doing the festival circuit, and I have some projects lined up that blend raw emotion, absurdity, and female rage. My favorite.

I’m also focused on GoodTake — a platform I created for the entertainment world. It’s an AI-powered platform streamlining productions workflows to save them time and money so they can focus on what they love and less on paperwork. It also helps to connect talent across borders making their jobs more sustainable. It’s for the industry I love, built by someone who knows how brutal it can be.

What makes it exciting for me is the mission behind it — it’s not just tech. It’s about making the industry more accessible, more human, and a little less gatekept. As someone who’s worked internationally, navigated multiple systems, and often felt like an outsider, I want to brake those walls and open the market globally.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

First of all: relentlessness. Just pure, unshakable relentlessness. I show up again and again, even when it’s messy, painful, or terrifying. If you’re early in your journey, get used to hearing “no” — and decide that it doesn’t mean stop. There are always more doors to knock on, more auditions to go on.

Second: emotional intelligence. Whether it’s acting or building a company, understanding people — and yourself — is everything. Learn to read the room. Learn when to push and when to pivot. Learn how to lead without ego. That’s where the real power is.

And lastly: figuring sh*t out. If I don’t know something, I ask. I dig, I research, I chat, I learn — constantly. I try, fail, and try again. You don’t need to be an expert to begin — you just need to be brave enough to start. The rest comes with love, patience, and persistence.

My advice? Start before you’re ready. Stay curious. Keep chasing your dreams, and never underestimate what you can build.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Absolutely. I’m always open to partnering with people who are drive, whether that’s in the entertainment space, tech, or anywhere the two collide. On the artistic side, I’m always down to collaborate on raw, character-driven stories — especially projects led by women, rebels, or underrepresented voices.

For GoodTake, we’re especially looking to collaborate with production houses, casting agents, studios, who want to streamline their work and expand their reach globally. We’re also keen to connect with creatives and innovators who believe in shaping a more connected, sustainable future for the industry.

I love supporting friends and their side hustles! So just hmu!
