Meet Milan Tiff

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Milan Tiff a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Milan, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose as a visual artist ( painter ) from having traveled the world as an Olympic athlete . Seeing things with my own eyes, as opposed to what I studied in school. There’s the saying, “ seeing is believing “ because when you see it, you don’t believe it. One example; Took a trip to Easter Island in the early 70’s, after having competed ( Track and Field ) in Santiago, Chile. As a perk , I asked if I could visit the Island. Easter Island is positioned in the Pacific Ocean, 5 hours by flight from any land mass. Chile, being the closest. Back then there were no commercial flights. You could only get there by military. ( the most terrifying plane flight day or night, looking out the window. Nothing but ocean ) The mystery of this Island ( a speck on the map ) was these countless monolith stone face statues each the size of the Twin Towers in New York City all turned and positioned from any place on the Island and pointing and looking up into the Universe as though their seeing something. To the point your first reaction is to look up. Liken to a crowd of people on the street all looking up at something. Your first reaction is to look up to see what they’re looking at. The mystery is, the Island had no population and no stone query. Where did they come from. Who placed them there. And what are they looking at. Something to think about.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m an artist that tries to paint what the eye can’t see. And make it visible. By applying skill.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being original. Being your natural self. What’s natural ( in form ) to you, is technique to someone else trying to copy you. Example; when you write your name, you’re making lines called a signature or a sign of your nature.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The dictionary is most fundamental book of the English language. It’s the basis for law and order in our society. Not the Bible. Example; when you take a word and put the letter S in front of it, it becomes a sword. To cut people with. Or when you are imprisoned for committing a crime and want to read a book. The only set of books you are allowed to read are the dictionary and Law books . Thus a Lawyer. To decipher the words. ( when you are arrested. You have the right to an attorney. Your words can be used against you ) The Bible is merely a manual or an instruction book. ( an abbreviation: B.I.B.L.E. ) Basic Information Before Leaving Earth .
