Meet Miled Finianos

We were lucky to catch up with Miled Finianos recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Miled, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes from the way I was raised, and from the food traditions that shaped me. In my family, the table was always a place of abundance, you never let someone leave hungry, and you always offered more than enough. That spirit of hospitality, of giving without keeping count, is something I carry with me.

When I started Habibi Supper Club, I wanted it to feel like you were stepping into my home. The extra plate passed around, the stories shared, the laughter that fills the room, that’s where the generosity shows up. It’s less about me choosing to “be generous” and more about honoring the way I learned to love people: through food, warmth, and presence.

For me, generosity isn’t just about serving a meal. It’s about creating space where people feel cared for, seen, and welcomed like family. That’s what habibi means, “my beloved”, and that’s the heart of everything we do.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Habibi Supper Club is my way of bringing people together around food, culture, and community. I host intimate dinners inspired by Lebanese traditions, where the table is abundant and guests are treated like family. For me, it’s never just about serving a meal, it’s about creating an experience where people feel cared for, connected, and part of something bigger. Something I’d love people to know is that every dinner is layered with intention. From the recipes I cook to the way the table is set, I want guests to feel transported, embraced, and inspired. And as Habibi Supper Club grows, I’m excited to host more pop-ups, collaborate with other makers and chefs, and continue creating spaces where people can gather and feel at home.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three most impactful qualities in my journey have been hospitality, resilience, and storytelling. Hospitality taught me how to make people feel cared for, resilience kept me going through challenges of working in an industry I never have been in before, and storytelling helped me share the deeper meaning behind Habibi Supper Club.

My advice: practice presence and generosity in your own way, embrace failure as part of growth, and get clear on the story you want to share, those three things will carry you far.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was instill strong family values. They showed me what it means to care for others, to share what you have, and to always make space at the table. Those values of love, generosity, and togetherness are what guide me every day and are the foundation of Habibi Supper Club.
