Miledys, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

My optimism has deep roots, sprouting from the resilient soil of my childhood experiences. Growing up in a single-parent household, I watched my mother, a Cuban refugee from 1980 who only spoke Spanish, navigate the challenges of settling in a new country with grace and grit. Despite relying on public assistance, she pursued the path of a part-time entrepreneur with relentless spirit. Through various entrepreneurial attempts, she taught us invaluable lessons: to show gratitude in all circumstances, to find beauty in failure, and to focus only on what we could control. Her approach to life was not just about surviving; it was about thriving. She involved us in her ventures, regardless of our ages, instilling a sense of responsibility and a belief in the power of optimism. Her strength and positive outlook in the face of adversity have profoundly shaped my own perspective, fueling a relentless optimism that guides me through life’s challenges.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Continuing in the entrepreneurial spirit of my mother, but with a modern twist, I have been connecting with clients since 2017, enhancing their overall well-being directly from their homes or offices, both virtually and in person. Many people struggle to find time for mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical self-care due to common life pressures like work, family responsibilities, and personal relationships. I specialize in kick-starting individuals and groups on their paths to self-awareness.

As a holistic health coach, I address the three most pressing concerns for my clients and help set achievable goals over six-week periods. Through mindfulness practices, personalized wellness plans, and active participation, I foster a sense of accountability and progress. The success areas vary greatly, as everyone seeks balance through different life desires, from simple fitness goals and rebuilding self-love to deeper pursuits like healing childhood wounds. With over 20 years of experience, I am equipped and passionate about using my skills to help others awaken their inner power and achieve their fullest potential.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Over the past two decades of serving as a holistic health coach and community coordinator, I’ve embraced several crucial lessons. Firstly, I learned the importance of gratitude. Reflecting on each year in business as a milestone, akin to a baby’s first steps, I made it a point to express heartfelt thanks for everything—both the highs and the lows. This practice helped me to see a pattern: what I initially perceived as failures often paved the way for subsequent success.

Secondly, it’s been vital for me to love what I do fearlessly. The excitement of waking up each day, eager to guide others in caring for their well-being, continually fuels my commitment. This passion has driven me to adapt to my clients’ needs, such as offering virtual sessions during late hours on weekdays and designing short, effective sessions for those who are earnestly striving in their professional lives.

Lastly, putting in consistent work has been essential. I’ve established a regular schedule to engage with the community, initiating people on their journeys toward self-awareness each week. I believe that becoming more conscious of how we care for ourselves is key to living a fulfilled and balanced life.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

Reflecting on my journey, the most helpful figures in overcoming challenges and fostering essential skills for success have been a diverse group of individuals and experiences. Working as a social worker back in 2006 for 8+ years with the elderly population provided me with invaluable insights into empathy, patience, and the importance of tailored care. Attending holistic health coaching school Integrative Nutrition (IIN), along with obtaining Zumba and AFAA certifications in 2012, enhanced my understanding of physical wellness and its integration with overall health.

Endless studying and creating both an on-line and in-person community have been crucial for keeping me informed and connected, further enriching my skill set. Additionally, intimate friends, family and my spiritual wellness group at Maraja Spiritual Luxury have deeply contributed to my personal and professional growth. They have supported me emotionally and spiritually, grounding me in values that are vital both in life and in my career. Collectively, these elements have been instrumental in building the essential skills, qualities, and knowledge needed to succeed.
