We were lucky to catch up with Milica (Mili) Ristic recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Milica (Mili), thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism was instilled in me from a young age, thanks to my father. A defining moment was when our country was bombed without warning. I was 12, playing outside, when I saw neighbors frantically packing to flee. Terrified, I ran to my father, urging him that we needed to leave too. He calmly continued making dinner and simply said, “They’ll all come back in three days.” And they did come back after three days.
That moment was pivotal. It taught me that no matter how dire a situation appears, there’s always hope and a solution. This belief has been my guiding light ever since, allowing me to face life’s challenges without fear or anxiety.
My father’s unwavering calmness and positivity in the face of crisis profoundly shaped my mindset, demonstrating the power of staying optimistic and resilient, no matter what.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
At MilOR, which means ‘Light’ in Hebrew, we focus on helping female business owners eliminate entrepreneurial overwhelm by decluttering their minds and bringing their inner light to the surface. This inner transformation is pivotal because every result we achieve in life stems from our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Witnessing this transformation in my clients is profoundly rewarding—it not only changes their lives but has also fundamentally changed mine.
My journey and success with MilOR led to my role as a special advisor to the Global Millennium Development Organization under the United Nations, where I contribute to the mental health field.
We recently launched ‘Coaching Coffee with Mili,’ a monthly call every second Friday at 11 am EST, where women come together to share and overcome their business and life challenges. It’s a unique space for vulnerability and transformation.
Additionally, I’m excited about our upcoming Female Fatal Academy, a holistic platform designed to support female business owners with both inner and outer transformation. Alongside seven expert partners, we offer guidance in areas such as public speaking, branding, confidence, and breathwork. Through this academy, we aim to foster growth and collaboration among female entrepreneurs and organizations, amplifying our collective impact on communities.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I am a big dreamer with unwavering faith and patience, qualities that have driven me to never give up on my dreams. For me, stepping into uncertainty is an exciting adventure that fuels my growth and expands my horizons. This mindset is how I’ve always lived my life.
Imagine moving from a small town in Serbia, barely speaking English, to crossing the Atlantic and starting anew in the USA. The knowledge I gained from my mentor, Bob Proctor, was instrumental. He helped me understand that our thoughts and mindset shape our reality. We are the creators of our own lives, and it is far better to live intentionally and consciously than by default and unconsciously.
My advice is simple: whatever you want to do, just do it! Like Nike says, just do it. You have the power to achieve anything you desire, but never neglect the inner work. This inner work gives you the wings to move forward and accomplish your goals.
I always tell my clients, “If I can do it—coming from a small country in Europe, without support, starting from scratch, and not speaking English—imagine what you can achieve with a supportive system around you!” Never ever give up on your dreams and yourself. Your potential is limitless.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely, I’d be delighted to answer your question.
We are actively seeking partners to collaborate with, particularly female organizations and conscious female business owners across various industries. Our ideal partners are women who are givers and embrace spirituality in any sense of the word.
I firmly believe that when women come together, we are truly unstoppable. Currently, we have a few partners who are very self-aware, committed to personal growth, and successful in their businesses. Our collaboration helps us grow and expand, benefiting not only ourselves but also our clients and community.
In addition, we are looking for experts in financial advising and executive styling for our Female Fatal Academy. If you’re interested in collaborating or learning more, please reach out via email at mili@milor.co or connect with me on Instagram @milor_coaching.
Thank you.
