Meet Minister Vickie Simon

We recently connected with Minister Vickie Simon and have shared our conversation below.

Minister Vickie, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Developing confidence and self-esteem, especially in running a full-service bridal company, has been a journey for me. It’s rooted in my faith and belief that God has a purpose for each of us.

Starting out, I leaned on prayer and reflection to seek guidance and clarity. This connection with God provided me with a sense of assurance and strength, reminding me that I was equipped to handle challenges.

Additionally, surrounding myself with supportive friends, mentors, and colleagues helped me build a strong foundation. Celebrating small wins along the way reinforced my belief in my abilities.

Each bride I’ve worked with has also taught me something invaluable, further boosting my confidence. Knowing that I’m contributing to one of the most significant days in their lives is both a privilege and a source of inspiration.

Ultimately, my journey has shown me that confidence grows through faith, experience, and the support of a loving community.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

This is a great question, thank you so much for asking.

I’m deeply passionate about my role as an Ordained Minister, wedding officiant, Full-service bridal expert, and Licensed Personal relationship/marriage counselor.

My journey began with a calling to serve others, and I’ve found that the wedding space is a beautiful intersection of faith, love, and community.

As a wedding officiant/Minister, I focus on creating personalized ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique story and values. I believe that every wedding is a sacred celebration, and I strive to infuse that sense of reverence into every service. The most exciting part of my work is witnessing the joy and connection between couples on their special day. It’s a reminder of the beauty of love and commitment to service each individual in excellence.

In addition to officiating weddings, I offer day of coordinating services, wedding planning, decor, guest accommodations, Design vision analysis, vendor referrals and counseling services to couples. Through our counseling services we help couples build strong foundations for their marriages. I

’m passionate about guiding couples through challenges and celebrating their growth together. This holistic approach—combining the spiritual and practical aspects of relationships—sets my work apart.

As for what’s new, I’m excited to announce an upcoming Bridal Magazine, & workshop series focused on pre-marital counseling and communication skills. These workshops aim to equip couples with tools for a healthy, lasting marriage. I’m also continuing to build positive collaborations with local vendors to create comprehensive wedding packages that celebrate both the couple and their community. I am also working on something very dear to me, I am not ready yet to release but it is being birthed from my own recent experience and I look forward to sharing more soon.

Overall, my brand is rooted in faith, love, and service. I’m committed to supporting couples not just on their wedding day, but throughout their entire journey together. I believe that with God’s guidance, every relationship can flourish, and I’m here to help make that happen.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities have been particularly impactful: empathy, effective communication, and a commitment to servitude.

Empathy: Understanding and relating to others’ emotions and experiences is crucial in my role. It allows me to connect deeply with couples and create meaningful ceremonies and counseling sessions. To develop empathy, I recommend actively listening to others, seeking to understand their perspectives, and reflecting on your own experiences to build a genuine connection.

Effective Communication: Clear and compassionate communication is essential, whether I’m officiating a wedding or guiding couples through counseling or helping set up for their ‘BIG DAY”. I am able to redirect energy very well. Dealing with bridal melt downs on the ceremony date has actually become one of my greatest passions. I am so dedicated to making my couples focus more on getting down the aisle then the things that can inevitably go wrong.

Commitment to Servitude: In the wedding field, a true commitment to serving others is essential. This means being responsive to the needs of couples and their families, always striving to provide the best support and guidance. I encourage those starting out to immerse themselves in their communities, seek mentorship, and engage in conversations that foster understanding and compassion. Embracing a servant mindset not only enhances your impact but also deepens your connection with those you serve.

For anyone early in their journey, I suggest setting small, achievable goals in each of these areas. Surround yourself with supportive people who encourage your growth, and don’t hesitate to ask for help or guidance and Pray (lol you will need lots of Prayer).

Embrace every opportunity as a learning experience and remember that building these qualities takes time and patience. With dedication and faith, you’ll see progress and success in your journey!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Absolutely! I’m always open to partnerships and collaborations that align with my mission of fostering love and strong relationships. I’m particularly interested in connecting with:

Wedding Vendors: Florists, photographers, planners, and caterers who share a similar vision of creating meaningful experiences for couples. Collaborating on styled shoots or package offerings can elevate the wedding experience.

Counselors and Therapists: Professionals who focus on relationship building and pre-marital counseling. Sharing resources, hosting workshops together, or creating community events can provide couples with a well-rounded support system.

Faith-Based Organizations: Churches and community groups that are dedicated to supporting couples through their marriage journey. Partnering for events, retreats, or educational workshops can make a significant impact.

If you’re interested in collaborating, please feel free to reach out! You can connect with me through my website www.littlechicweddings.com or via email [email protected]. I’d love to explore how we can work together to enhance the experiences of couples and create lasting connections in our community
