Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Miranda Tate. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
MIRANDA, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Being the “only one in the room” has been my reality for much of my career. As a Black woman navigating the luxury real estate market and television industry, I’ve often found myself surrounded by people who don’t look like me or share similar backgrounds. But instead of feeling intimidated, I’ve learned to harness that unique position as a source of strength and empowerment.
It starts with unwavering self-belief. Knowing my value, my expertise, and the unique perspective I bring to the table allows me to walk into any room with confidence and assertiveness. I don’t shy away from speaking my mind, sharing my ideas, and challenging the status quo.
Authenticity is key. I embrace my identity and let my personality shine through. Whether I’m connecting with clients, negotiating deals, or hosting on television, I bring my whole self to the table. This genuine approach has not only helped me build trust and rapport but has also inspired others to embrace their own individuality.
Ultimately, being the “only one” has fueled my determination to succeed. It’s pushed me to work harder, strive for excellence, and become a role model for others who may feel underrepresented. I see it as an opportunity to pave the way for future generations and demonstrate that success knows no boundaries.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a REALTOR® and the Emmy-nominated host of “The American Dream,” a show where we showcase incredible people, places, and properties across Arizona and beyond. What I find most exciting is the opportunity to merge my passion for real estate with the power of storytelling. We shine a spotlight on everything from luxurious homes and innovative developments to inspiring entrepreneurs and local charities. It’s about showcasing the vibrant tapestry of our community and connecting with viewers on a personal level.
My brand is built on authenticity, empowerment, and giving back. I’m deeply committed to mentoring other agents and uplifting women in the industry. That’s why I founded Lady Power Players Elevated, an organization that hosts an annual retreat and fireside chat series designed to inspire and empower women to reach their full potential.
And here’s some exciting news! We’re always looking for amazing restaurants, events, and homes to feature on “The American Dream.” If you know of any hidden gems or inspiring stories that deserve to be shared with our audience, we’d love to hear from you! The show airs on all major streaming platforms, as well as HGTV and The Travel Channel, so your story could reach a global audience.
And for those with a taste for international real estate, I also partner with developers in Tulum, Mexico, and Ghana, offering exclusive opportunities to invest in stunning properties and experience new cultures.
So, whether you’re looking to buy or sell a home, connect with inspiring individuals, or explore international real estate opportunities, I invite you to join me on this incredible journey!
Ultimately, my goal is to use my platform to inspire, connect, and make a positive impact. Whether I’m helping clients find their dream home, empowering women in business, or showcasing the best of Arizona to the world, I’m driven by a passion for people and a desire to leave a lasting legacy.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience: The real estate world, and life in general, throws curveballs. Setbacks are inevitable, but it’s how you bounce back that defines you. Early on, I faced challenges as a single mom trying to build a career. There were times I wanted to give up, but that inner voice kept pushing me forward. My advice? Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Don’t be afraid to fail, learn from your mistakes, and keep going. Cultivate a strong support system – mentors, friends, family – who will encourage you when things get tough.
Authenticity: In a world of filters and facades, being genuine is a superpower. People connect with realness. Early in my TV career, I tried to fit a certain mold, but it felt forced. Once I embraced my true self – my personality, my passion, my vulnerability – everything shifted. My advice? Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Embrace your unique qualities, your story, your perspective. Let your true self shine through in your interactions and your work.
Building Relationships: Real estate is about more than transactions; it’s about people. Building strong relationships – with clients, colleagues, mentors – has been the foundation of my success. My advice? Be genuinely interested in others. Listen actively, show empathy, and nurture those connections. Network with intention, seeking out individuals who inspire you and can support your growth. Remember, relationships are a two-way street – be willing to give as much as you receive.
By focusing on resilience, authenticity, and building strong relationships, you’ll create a solid foundation for success in any field. Believe in yourself, embrace your journey, and never stop learning and growing.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely! I’m always eager to connect with inspiring individuals and organizations who align with my values and vision. Here are a few types of collaborations I’m particularly excited about:
Empowering Women: I’m passionate about supporting women in business and leadership. I’d love to collaborate with women-led organizations, entrepreneurs, and initiatives focused on mentorship, personal development, and creating opportunities for women to thrive.
Showcasing Amazing Stories: For “The American Dream” TV show, I’m always on the lookout for fascinating people, unique businesses, and stunning homes to feature. If you know of any hidden gems, inspiring stories, or architectural wonders that deserve to be in the spotlight, I’d love to hear about them!
Community Impact: Giving back to the community is a core part of my mission. I’m eager to partner with organizations and individuals making a positive impact in areas like education, social justice, and environmental sustainability.
International Real Estate Collaborations: I’m keen to connect with investors, developers, and real estate professionals interested in exploring opportunities in Tulum, Mexico, and Ghana.
