Meet Mizzy Raw

We recently connected with Mizzy Raw and have shared our conversation below.

Mizzy, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Being from the east coast , Philly that is I mean it’s hard to not have confidence. Everyone wants to be the best it’s like i grew up in the jungle so knowing everyone was competitive just made me believe In myself before anyone else did which made everyone else around me believe in me just seeing how hard i worked and how unique I was.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a music artist / entertainer from Philadelphia, I also have a clothing brand “I’m Raw apparel” as well which is a branch off my MIZZY RAW BRAND. The music I make is very passionate, impactful and Real. Music for the soul from the soul. The art and the way I create it normally captures my listener’s and fans emotionally. People love to hear a story and me telling my story and just being relatable through my personal life and other’s experiences and being able to convey that through my lyrics is truly admiring to most. As far as new and up and coming.. I just released my first hit single with major label distribution through Sony orchard “On me” produced by Anweezy and it’s currently doing very great, it’s already in 10 different radio stations in different city’s and it’s been picked up by a few notable blogs like hiphopsince1987 and heat mag. As far as what’s next! A project! And some dope shows as well as a new merchandise drop for the summer.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back I feel it was my hunger to actually want it. I didn’t give up I wasn’t lazy I worked hard and showed up every time. Secondly would be my mindset. I always took the time to do my research and understand that there music and then the music business so that helped me navigate and make smart moves. Last but not least I would have to say having people around me that supported me. So if I had to give any advice I would tell whoever that needs to hear this , keep going don’t give up. It’s not gonna be easy. Where there’s a will there is a way so whatever you need you can go and get from resources to advice so network and stay active and do your research and educate yourself because this music industry is mainly business and if you don’t understand the business side of things you’ll end up in a very bad decision or just not even getting into a position at all because you don’t know how to. Stay raw

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Man to be honest I would love to collab and work with alot of people but for starters it definitely would be any artsti for dreamville records , seddy hendrix , saba , H.E.R , . I would love to work with the Reel goats film company or Jacob Owens. As far as producers my dream collab would be with hit boy , ali from TDE & 40 from ovo and of course timberland .. I’d also be interested if the right label or partnership came along with the means to work and do business honoring my vision and artistry. The possibilities and future is limitless!
