Meet MJ Toling

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to MJ Toling. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi MJ , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I believe being a dreamer is a huge part on how I found my purpose and I think you have to be in order to find the steps to take action. To me, purpose is in-line with achieving success during your life, things you want to accomplish. Everybody has aspirations they hope to achieve and the journey one goes through makes your purpose clearer the more you work towards it.

Finding your purpose is a beautiful thing.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My artistic journey began in my childhood where I was involved in many hobbies related to art, from competing in martial arts, to joining a dance crew, to making films at home, the list goes on. I became passionate about artistry and my early involvement fueled my ambition for an artistic career, now I remain eager to continue learning and growing in my craft.

I particularly enjoy the art of storytelling and cinema, tapping into my imagination and creativity and collaborating amongst other filmmakers. What I cherish most about working with filmmakers is the sense of being a part of a talented community who work to bring films to life that we all enjoy watching.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

For me that would be drive, sacrifice and lots of prayers.

I think for folks who are starting their journey, know that this won’t be like a walk in the park so it’s important to be ambitious about your goals and work on how you can get there. For new actors interested in starting their career, take classes, find a showcase to attend to, work on getting an agent, and make your own films for your own enjoyment.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

If you are a filmmaker reading this and would love to collaborate, let’s work!
