We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mo Osunbor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mo below.
Hi Mo, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
There are many sources, but one of the more impactful ones is science fiction… especially during my childhood. I’ve always been a fan of the hero’s journey depicted in books and movies. The Matrix was one of the most inspiring ones.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an Artist & Creative Director in marketing. As a creative director, I strive to create marketing that doesn’t feel like marketing. As an artist, I am known for medium agnostic work. My most proud work to date is Build A Seat. From conceptual development to collaborating with friends in an unfamiliar field, the project has by far been the most memorable.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience, resilience, resilience. It’s always been the ability to find creativity in constraints and embrace your setbacks as your greatest good (though it may not look like it at the time.)
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Alchemist was definitely amazing. Love the notion of the universe being like water and wanting to get out of your way when you want to do something.
