Meet Mo Quinteros

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mo Quinteros. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mo, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

As a teenager I suffered from major self-esteem issues -battling stage 4 cystic acne. Being made fun of and called “pizza face” along with many more rude comments. No matter what I did to control the condition, nothing seemed to work. After a few dermatologist visits, I was able to get the right treatment and later on saw a medical aesthetician to perform micro-needling sessions on me. The results were immediate, despite the scarring. Since then, I knew I wanted to help others with a complicated and stubborn skin problem.

In 2019, I graduated from Aesthetics School and became licensed that same summer.

Over the years, I’ve worked in retail sales, and life/car insurance, but nothing was better than sitting behind a client, touching them and hearing their stories. The amount of people who’ve trusted my expertise reminds me of why I chose this career and how purpose chose me. I’m meant to help people whether that’s with appearance or being someone that they can confide in. They feel good inside and outside.

Ergo, my business’s name, Tonic Beauty Lounge. Tonic is a medicinal and strengthening effect. To restore, refresh and revive.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am currently focused on getting our name out there. We want to expand knowledge to our clients and our students. With each class, we create a new jobs for men and women in the beauty industry.

I am excited about designing our products for lash artists and estheticians. Everything is hand-tested by our professionals and developed to its best quality.

Our beauty supply and training is located in-person and online. Next year I will be looking into opening our second location to hire more artists and host larger classes.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Having hope and taking a leap of faith for myself was number one. I wouldn’t have been able to start my business if I never overcame that fear of failure.

Being fair to everyone.

Connecting and Networking with like-minded individuals when it comes to business, public relations, or social media advertising.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

For my business, my product line has grown. Customer relations have improved as well as my responsibilities.
