We recently connected with Mohamed Diomande and have shared our conversation below.
Mohamed, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism stems from my outlook on life, which is shaped by a few core beliefs and sayings that guide me:
“Life is long.” I see life as a long journey full of possibilities. This helps me maintain a hopeful, optimistic view of the future rather than getting anxious or discouraged by temporary setbacks. I know there is plenty of time for good things to happen.
“Today is the first day of my life.” I try to greet each new day as a fresh start and opportunity. Yesterday’s mistakes or disappointments are in the past; today I can make new choices. This allows me to move forward optimistically.
My optimism comes from a combination of taking the long view and seeing each day as a new beginning. This mindset fills me with hope, positivity and enthusiasm for life and the future, no matter what happens day to day. Optimism is a choice and a practice for me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m someone who loves expressing myself through different passions – from DJing and creating energetic atmospheres, to exploring movement through dance, to challenging myself with handstands and workouts. My journey as Buf Barista began unexpectedly during a freelance gig in June when someone noticed my energy and suggested I create an Instagram handle called “Buf Barista.”
What excites me most about Buf Barista is how it naturally brings together all these different parts of who I am into one authentic experience. It’s the perfect platform where my love for music, movement, and connecting with people all make sense together. Each of my interests adds something unique to the mix, creating something that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Dedication to exceptional customer service:
My advice for those starting out in the event industry would be to always put your clients first. Be proactive in your communication, anticipate their needs. Building a reputation for exceptional service will set you apart and lead to lasting relationships with clients.
Creativity and adaptability:
No two events are the same. Don’t be afraid to try new things.
Strong communication and collaboration skills:
My advice would be to prioritize building strong relationships in the industry. The more you invest in your professional relationships, the more opportunities will come your way.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
Our ideal client is a professional who prioritizes creating memorable guest experiences. They value high-quality, coffee service and seek a collaborative partnership to bring their vision to life. They appreciate the importance of aesthetics and branding, understanding that every detail contributes to the overall atmosphere of the event.
