We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mojdeh Bahar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Mojdeh , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
It’s a gift that comes with being able to paint! It is also a requirement for being a mother!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
– I’m here to deliver Beauty
– I have a passion and love for color, detail work and Nature where it all exists together.
– I admire those who have dedicated themselves to their art and that drives me to work harder.
– I’m inspired by Persian Miniatures specially 16th century. My short and fortunate training under Master Mahmood Farchian, as a teenager in art academy, has influenced my work whether intentional or unintentional.
– I’m nurturing the idea of integrating my love of Persian Art and western abstraction in painting the world around us
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
– Find what you are passionate about and go after it, stay with it and nurture it.
– Practice, practice, practice
– Do it for you not to show off!
– Hard work, a lot of dedicated hardwork!
– Start painting from your heart then work on it with your head!
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Quiet down, listen!
Take inventory of your accomplishments and permit yourself to going back to the drawing board to learn some more!
